Mom and dad were quickly fumbling for last minute stuff to pack, as the butlers rushed from room to room preparing things their masters might need for the journey. You watched these things happen as you squatted by your unopened gifts with Canary by your side.

"Will you be okay?" Canary asked you in a questioning tone.

"Of course I will, it's them I'm worried about..." You say, "This isn't the first time that they targeted a A level bounty. They'll be fine..." You trailed off.

"You're right!" Canary flashed you an encouraging smile, which helped to lift your spirits. "I'll be with you here while we wait for your parents to return until then!"

"Yeah, I'll be fine as long as I have you with me!" You said as you hugged Canary. Canary really was your best and only friend, and you hers. At first she was really hostile towards you because she didn't see it fit for a butler to befriend their master, but you were stubborn and wouldn't take no for an answer. To help you make friends, your mother gave Canary the position as "Butler in training" where she wasn't technically employed by us, just training under your roof while we provide for her, so long as she and you play together. After hearing that Canary couldn't refuse, for she deeply wanted to be your friend too.

"Hey sweetie, can you come here for a second? Oh and bring the two small boxes from your mother and I!" Your father called to you.

"Okay!" You responded as you got up, turned away from Canary and did as you were told. You approached you father with the two boxes.

"Your mother and I just wanted to be here for when you opened our gifts at least." your father said as his arm wrapped around your mothers waist.

"Go on dear- open your gifts!" Your mother encouraged. You went for the small velvet box first which seemed to open like a jewelry box. when you opened it, you found this right inside, 14k-black-gold-engagement-ring

"It's beautiful..." You said in amazement.

"Take care of it, " Your mother said, "Its a family heirloom, your father gave it to me when we got married. Its a symbol of eternal love and loyalty. Its been passed down through your fathers family to me, and now to you. When the time comes, I want you to give this to the person you come to love wholeheartedly." You nod. gawking at the lovely ring. "Until then, " Your mother says, taking the ring and slipping it onto your finger as it magically adjusted to your ring fingers size. "It will serve as a pacifier for your nen specialist abilities. When it gleams red, you wont be able to control yourself well, so be careful. There is nen is the ring that will help control your powers and the nen will also help when you find true love..." Your mother trailed off, putting her index finger to her lips. "I wont say anymore" she said before she hugged you tightly, smiled her lovely smile, kissed your forehead and got into the passenger side seat.

Next was my father's gift. you opened the silver box and under a lot of padding, You uncover a ben's knife. You lift the blade slowly, admiring it, then carefully set it back down since you can tell by its form that it's got poison on it. "Only use this knife in case of emergencies and on people who might otherwise kill you or harm you. Okay?" Your father said sternly. "This blade will not only inflict a fatal wound and inject poison, but with your powers it will put the victim into a trance and they will become your slave util they die. I ask you to only use this as a last resort because there are truly things worse than death, and I wouldnt want you causing those things for people. Got it?"

"O-of course father!" You stutter because you've never heard him sound so serious before.

"Good." He said in his normal, gentle tone. He grabbed you into one of his comforting bear hugs."I love you very much dear..."

"I love you too daddy!" You say on the verge of tears.

He eventually lets go and turns towards the car, but before your father closed the driver side door, you ran up and asked him to make a promise to be safe. He looked at you, as pain filled his eyes as he contemplated on how to respond to this demand. He then hugged you tight and placed a kiss on your forehead and said, "Dear, I love you with all my heart, and I promise that daddy and mommy will come back safe and sound- we will try our best to achieve as much. Until then sweetie, take care of the house for us, keep training and be a good girl. When daddy gets back he wants you to be able to FINALLY beat him at sparing okay?" He look down at you tears welling up in his eyes as you nodded your head and hugged him closer, "I promise to keep my promise if you keep yours daddy!"

You watch as your parents drive away once again, but something was telling you that this time was different from the times before. You instinctively run after the car which had already turned onto the road before you even got close. "MOM! DAD!" You screamed as you fell to your knees, clutching your gifts. "...Don't go..." Canary hugs you tightly and your shoulders shake and you sob into the shoulder. The other butlers come and join the group hug until you've stopped shaking and fell asleep.
