Yo this chapter is ridiculously short because I'm still not sure how to write Sky- but here we go
—————
They had been being thrown around randomly for some time now. Several months in fact. They've been to almost all the Hyrules and some even multiple times. They've stayed on the ranch with Malon about three times. They've been to Wild's house, Kakariko, and Zora's Domain. Twilight's Village and Kakariko. Stayed with Artemis in her castle. Just about every cave in Rulie's Hyrule. But... Never once have they ended up in Sky's era. No Skyloft visits or traumatic Loftwing rides.
It was really starting to get to Sky. Why did Time get to see his wife so much...? Wind got Tetra and his sister. Wild.... got to see Flora... she was always magically exactly where they ended up staying. It wasn't fair! He missed Sun so much.... Even if they went once and never again for the rest of this confusing adventure. That all he wanted! Just once! Just to see her and hold her.... he could feel himself breaking and he hated every second. He felt selfish for being so miserable. He no longer enjoyed the new things his found family showed him.
He didn't really realize how bad his homesickness had gotten until Wild handed him his dinner one night and sat next to him instead wondering back to his spot between Time and Twilight. The Champion didn't say anything as they ate side by side. He was zoned into whatever conversation was happening around the fire. Sky glanced at him and the other looked back with a soft smile. Sky forced himself to smile back but Wild just shook his head and mouthed 'Dont force it.'
Sky sighed and went back to eating.
A bit later, they all finished eating and cleaned up. Everyone settled in and went to sleep, Sky taking first watch because for once his mind just wouldn't settle. He couldn't even play his harp to soothe the others to sleep... looking at it hurt too much. So he sat on his rock and stared off, letting his mind wonder. He never even heard the quiet footsteps walking over. Paid no mind to the smaller body settling next to him. The slightly rasped breathing gave it away as Wild. The presence of the other hero made Sky get a bit defensive and tense but Wild simply took Sky's sailcloth and wrapped them both up before snuggling into Sky's side.
It took Sky a moment but he eventually relaxed and hugged Wild, forcing tears to stay hidden. He mumbled a quiet "Thank you." as the two snuggled on watch until it was time to wake Warriors for his shift. Even then, Wild stayed with Sky and snuggled close as they slept.
