You should of died a long time ago.

"Don't think like that"

His soft and calming voice was able to break through the dark cloud that seemingly loomed over you.
Your eyes widened as you turned your head to stare into his eyes. You could see that his peaceful ocean, the one that resides in his eyes, were disturbed. Clouded, with loving concern.
"You know me so well... Childe" You softly spoke the last word, still not used to calling him by that name.
Your gaze once more wandered to the grass floor as you stared at the blades of bright green grass.
Childe continued to embrace you from behind, never loosening his embrace by the slightest. He feared that even a slight show of weakness would allow your dark demonous thoughts to creep back. Currupted you, take over.

Suddenly, Childe sensed someone. He had no choice but to let go as he slowly stood up and looked behind you. His eyes became blank and lifeless as he spotted something behind a tree, not to far from where you two were. He then turned back to you and extended his hand.
You gave him a confused look before seeing the glint in his eyes. You quickly placed your hand in his as he pulled you up, then hugging you.
Your breath hitched at the sudden affection.
His grip tightened, as if he wanted to never let go. As if he was about to loose you.
This action scared the living alights out of you, he had never shown this much worry and nervousness.

You opened your mouth to speak. But before you were able to say anything, Childe cut you off.
"Someones following you, I need you to go to my home. Seek refuge there, my family will welcome you with open arms as always. Tell the older ones the situation and they will understand. Make sure to not use a direct path"
Straight to the point, and sharp. The words of orders and directions, words of urgency.
You understood them perfectly.

You tugged onto his cloths from behind, deepening your embrace. You knew what this ment.

As if reading your thoughts, he spoke again
"Don't worry I'll be fine! You go first, okay?" His voice had once more returned to his signature happy go-lucky tone.
Even through the hugging, you could tell he was giving you that teasing, but reasuring smile.
You nodded and quickly pulled away from his embrace. You casually sped walked away. The warmth from his body fading away with every single  step you took.

When you finally made it to the forest, you ran through it and proceeded to jump onto a branch on a tree. Hiding from whoever was following you.
You were clumsy and stubborn, but you weren't an idiot.

The Fatui had began to suspect something happening between Childe and you, they knew what was happening. And they highly disapproved of it.
As one of the Fatui Harbingers, Childe was absolutely not allowed to have any relationships outside of work. Every person he met, was to be met with a professional attitude. Everyone he met was to only be of use to the Fatui.
Until he met you that is.
Somehow you were able to catch his interests, and he became the thing that the Fatui fear the most.

Attached.

Childe did his best to cover up the relationship between you two. Always excusing it as a professional dealing, casual hang outs, and extracting information. Facades like his can only last so long, and it seems they've finally found out the truth.
As expected of the infamous Fatui. Many of the members are known for their intelligence. Lies can only last so long. Childe knew that, because he was one of them. He was one of the highly intelligent ones. He was one of the debt collectors, no Lie could ever slip past him. He knew his facade wouldn't last. You knew that too.
