S.E. Sasaki was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada but grew up in Mississauga, Ontario. She studied Biology, Neurophysiology, and Medicine at the University of Toronto and practiced family medicine in a small rural town for many years. She has managed to almost kill herself, or at least break a few bones, doing crazy things like: downhill skiing, hockey, soccer, horseback riding, whitewater kayaking and canoeing, tennis (not so dangerous!) and running. She now only downhill skiis and walks! She spends most of her working hours in the operating room assisting in surgery and, when she is not in the OR, she is drawing, painting, cutting paper and gluing to create her collages, writing fiction or non-fiction, advance reading for Steven Erikson, reading for pleasure, or being dragged around the countryside by her Alaskan Malamute. She and her husband have proudly raised a son and daughter who are two of the coolest people on the planet!
