(Continuing the last post, which worked, yay!)

*****FURTHER SPOILERS, STILL DON'T READ UNLESS YOU'VE READ THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THE PAIN INSIDE*****

I know that sounds strange, and most of you probably still wish I'd go back in and write a definitive choice that would settle things, but that was never meant to be. The final chapter is supposed to be all about the ability to choose, and a character who is no longer just mine. I simply took you on a journey with that character, and with Kat. It ends... However you want it to. As strange as that may be, I hope you guys can understand. =)

I still haven't figured out for sure what I'm going to write next. I've got a lot of ideas stewing upstairs, but none that have clearly separated themselves from the pack. There are a few of the paranormal romance sort that I could write, like The Pain Inside (only a little less sad and melodramatic). Or there are a few of the more serious sort, not at all romance-y, like The Second Layer and it's sequel were. Do any of you have a preference? Or outright want me to soundboard a few of the ideas off some of you and see what flies? Let me know.

(I think I'm going to have to split this up into two posts, as Wattpad won't let me post the whole thing, sorry!)

*****SPOILERS, SORTA KINDA MAYBE, BUT CLOSE ENOUGH THAT YOU SHOULDN'T READ THIS UNTIL AND UNLESS YOU'VE READ THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THE PAIN INSIDE*****

Seriously, don't read past this point until you've read the final chapter. Read it? Ok, good, moving on.

I'm sure a lot of you are thinking right now "WTH!?!? It ends there!?!?" and are wishing I'd rush back in, and write out the decision that Matt makes, and it's outcome. But the truth is that I knew from the beginning, when I first started this story, that even though the story greatly leans towards one choice over the other, ultimately it would have to be up to the reader to decide for themselves what Matt chose in the end. Because as much as these may be characters inside my head, in a strange way I feel that life or death isn't my choice to make, it's Matt's. And that, through reading the entire story, a Matt was created in each and every one of you. And that the Matt in each of your minds has to make that choice for himself, and that only each of you can truly know, deep down, what's right for him.

I just completed writing the final chapter of The Pain Inside. I will admit to tearing up quite a bit while writing it so, ahem, ahem, hopefully I'll be the only one, no sense making my readers bawl like babies, nope, none of that. Anyways, I'm hoping to clean it up and have it posted later today, if not it'll be tomorrow at the latest. And I'll send out one more message once it's posted to address what comes next and all that. Thanks to everyone reading it for bearing with me through the long process, including the extremely long writer's block I had dead in the middle of it all. I greatly appreciate it, and I can only hope the story was worth it, to all of you. Thanks again, to each and every one of you. =)

SyntheticDivine

Just letting everyone know that I just completed the next-to-last chapter of The Pain Inside. I will be polishing it up and posting it in a few days, and then all that will be left will be the final chapter. And for me to figure out precisely what I'll be writing next. I've got several ideas, so it's going to be tough to choose, but at least I know I'll be writing *something*, free from writer's block for the time being, and that's what matters right? =)

EstherPabai

Please update POWER PLAY because it's one of the best books I have read and not just on wattpad :)

SyntheticDivine

@EstherPabai Sorry, I'd almost completely forgotten about finishing the update on it. The story itself was completed some time ago, prior to my joining Wattpad (as was The Second Layer, its prequel), but since I was doing gradual posting on both in conjunction with what I was currently writing, when I encountered writers block for my other works it halted my posting of everything, and I never remembered to finish the updates. I'll do that today, due to your request. =)

I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything, and I'm sorry for that, but the good news is I've finally gotten back to writing lately. I didn't want to post anything right away though, in case I just ran into another block, so I waited and made sure I had a bit in reserve, just in case. I'm glad to be able to say that I've finally reached that point. I've got a few chapters in reserve, so if I run into a rough spot I can keep posting here and there until I get through it.

With all that said, I will resume the posting of The Pain Inside with a new chapter starting later today. Hope there's a few of you left that still care to read it. =)

Mr_Sympathy

Are you the same SyntheticDivine who wrote Dead People Aren't Toys (and the rest of that series)?

Mr_Sympathy

I can certainly understand that.
For what it's worth, I really liked those old things, and not necessarily because of their 'genre'.

SyntheticDivine

That was quite some time ago, and an entirely different... Genre, so to speak. Yes, I wrote those stories a long while back, but I haven't written any further of that particular type in awhile now.

Hey, I know it was a long time ago, but I only just found you and I thought I would say hi. I also had one of my stories, Fear and Blood, stolen by that guy AlexClight and didn't know that Wattpad existed before that. Anyway just wanted to say I hope your writing is going well. Good luck :)
