I live outside of Dallas, TX, USA with my husband of 37 years and our 24  year old cockatiel (who literally rules the roost).  I'm a retired computer application programmer/analyst and although originally I didn't think I'd enjoy retirement, I love the freedom it gives me.  

There are so many things that interest and amuse me, so I don't think I have any particular type of story I like to write, except that they are all pretty much general fiction, not a real genre.  I belong to a group of ladies who enjoy writing and it is through our 'leader' that many of the suggestions for a story come from.  It is always up to each individual writer to take that suggestion wherever it may lead, or disregard that one and come up with one of her own.

I decided to join here because I enjoy reading new things and I would like others to read what I have been writing.  I want true critiques from people who don't know me and won't be afraid of offending me if they don't like what I've written, or have some suggestions.
