I am a left winged Liberal Democrat and proud :D. I want to get a degree in political science or law when I'm in college. My name is James. I'm 14 years old with hazel eyes, long hair and freakishly tall. No joke. I'm the tallest person in my grade out of about 200 people. You get used to it. I actually like it. I'm 6'0". Still growing. I am a tenor. I love to sing:3 Writing has changed my life in a way that nothing else has. Luxuries, food, money, all of this is overrated. I've lived over a thousand lives just by writing. It gives me the opportunity to be what I want, where I want, whenever I want. Nothing compares to the joy of writing a poem or a short story. I post them on Wattpad so I can remember them, and so people can see what's on my mind. Who knows? Maybe one goes viral and I become a hit on here. I always tell myself that's not the point. That it doesn't matter. But hell, what writer doesn't like praise? I've been through a lot, I suppose, but I consider myself lucky. There's so much wrong in the world. What can I do to help it? Write the world to peace? I doubt it. Pray? I love God, but it just doesn't seem to work 100% of the time. It certainly doesn't create world peace. I love football. Love LOVE LOVE FOOTBALL. NFL for the most part. Even though I live in Ohio, where it seems there's only Steelers fans, we are HUGE Denver Broncos fans at my house! The Baltimore loss about a month ago in the divisional round.... Most... devastating... loss... ever. We are the best team in the NFL. I've been a Denver fan my whole life. Peyton Manning is gonna bring the Lombardi home to the Mile High City. I play football too. I'll be a freshman next year, and we're already lifting. I'm starting to feel the pressure. Usually when I go out to eat with my parents, we have decent conversations. I think when I'm older I'll look back at these moments and realize how blessed I am. Anyway, I don't know how it came up, but the subject of immigration came up. Usually I side liberal with these topics, and as was the case with this, I gladly welcome immigrants from other countries. A vast majority of them are migrant workers. They come to our country and work jobs that nobody wants, such as cleaning bathrooms or working in kitchens at well below minimum wage, but they send their money back to their families in Mexico, or wherever they're from. Republicans say they go by Jesus' teachings, but Jesus said to accept feed the poor, the starving, and the weak. No one person in this world is more human than anybody else. America is the land of opportunity. Our ancestors came here for better lives, for opportunity, so that they're families could grow up happier than the were. That's the point of America. THIS is why I am a liberal. This is why when I'm older I will vote Democrat, because I believe that every human being should be treated equal. What's the GOP's excuse? "They're lazy. They're stealing our money that we pay into welfare," and they're too ignorant to realize illegal immigrants aren't eligible for Welfare, or any other benefits anyway. What jobs are they taking from us? The ones we don't want. Who wants to work at a minimum wage job cleaning bathroom stalls and washing dishes?(I don't think we should raise the minimum wage, but that's a whole other discussion). When your ancestors came here and saw the Statue of Liberty, it had these words inscribed: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” I believe Jesus said something similar. "Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you." -Matthew 5:42
