There's not much to know about me. I'm an average American teenage girl who loves to write. My stories started out ok but I never realized that I had real potential until 6th grade. Around Halloween time my teacher said we had to write a short story starting with the words "it was a dark and stormy night". Many of my classmates wrote about a sleepover gone bad or even a few wrote about chocolate rain. I decided to go on a different direction. I wrote my version of a horror story. I called it On the Run. I spent nights writing the first chapter making sure it used imagery and it would scare the living daylights out of my class and teacher. My hard work didn't go to waste. My teacher read it to the class and for weeks I had people coming up to me that they were still having nightmares. I was inspired and wrote more and more and edited until it was perfect. Then I would write and edit some more. This cycle is still going on to this day almost two years later. Since then I've written a few short stories; most of which are horror or mystery. A lot of my friends, teachers, and family are shocked that I write these strikes involving death and blood and gruesome scenes but all the same they are proud of me. Writing is something that lets me express what I feel. Now don't go thinking that is some psychopathic weirdeo because I'm not but writing does keep me sane. I'm not good at expressing sadness. I've never been good at it. My stories let me do that in a creative way. All I ask is to give my writing a chance. I want, no I need to be an author. I don't believe in a set fate but I know that writing is what I was meant to do.
Sincerely,
Ivory James
