So who am I? Well, I'm the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friend Chazz laughs at me when I scare myself watching them and tells me to stop watching them, but who doesn't love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep. Growing up in a small town, I learned a lot of values and morals, I also learned parents have spies everywhere and there's always someone to tell your mama you were seen kissing a particular boy on a particular day just a little too long. So when you get grounded, what is there left to do? Read! My Aunt Jo gave me my first real romance novel. It was a romance titled "Lord Margrave's Deception." I remember it fondly. But I also learned I had a deep and abiding love of mysteries and anything paranormal. As I grew up, I started to write just that and would entertain my friends with stories featuring them as main characters. Now, I live Huntersville, NC where I entertain my niece and nephew and watch the cats get teased by the birds and laugh myself silly when they swoop down and then dive back up just out of reach. The cats start yelling something fierce...lol. I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories. Our original plans for the sequel had to be scrapped. I'd planned on Book 2 being about Melinda with Cassie thrown in to help, but there was such an outcry of "we need book two about Cassie" we decided to rethink our plans. The original book is now book one of the Elements series. Each element has its own story - they are the people she needs to find to create her circle for the final showdown. So now I am writing Book 2 of the Coven - strictly about Cassie with Melinda thrown in - and book one of the Element's - Melinda's story. The plan, going forward, is to release each book together. It's taking a little time to fix plot issues in both books, so as much as I'd like to say next month, it might actually be another 2-3 months. Lot harder to write two at once...lol. I am doing my best to get it out as quickly as I can. ~Apryl Baker

Wow, I truly think that your writing is amazing! It took me about five or six hours to read The Promise and I think you did an amazing job weaving the whole Curse mystery together. Everything seemed entirely possible in that fantasy way of obviously not being possible. I know that's really hard to do and I definitely respect you for it. I wish that I could actually get the things running through my head down in writing, that would just be amazing. Anyway, to sum it up, I just want you to know that I have read probably a hundred or so stories and I've only felt the need to comment twice. That's gotta show something, right? I don't even know how to tell you how amazing I think that your imagination and writing are. :)
