Ch. 3; Ice Blue Eyes

In the mess hall, everyone was surrounding someone at a table. Aila walked towards the swarm to see the center of attention was Eren. "So what were the titans like?", a cadet had asked him. He stopped talking, froze, he dropped his spoon into his soup while covering his mouth and gagging. Aila couldn't help but empathize, she walked towards the cadet who asked and grabbed hold of his shoulder, squeezing it lightly. "That's enough, everyone back to your seats" "What? He was just telling us just fine before, he's fine now let go-", Aila squeezed harder, making the cadet wince. She stared him down while saying in a flat tone, "I don't think I remember asking for your statement did I?", the cadet shook in fear, he apologized and left, along with everyone else. She sat down next to Eren, this time rubbing his back until he could calm down. "T-Thanks.. what's your n-", he looked up wide eyed, in shock. "Long time no see old friend", Aila said with a light smile spread across her face.

Eren jumped onto her, embracing her. "A-Aila.. I thought- I thought you were.." "Shhh.. I know, but I'm not you see? I missed you, Eren", Eren began to tear up, he let go and smiled, still teary eyed. The two caught up on past events, Mikasa and Armin joined them later. Armin was so happy he began to cry, he missed his old friend, his reading buddy. The four friends laughed while reliving past memories, they cried a little too, sharing what had happened to them three years ago. Once the bell rung, everyone returned to the dormitories. Armin and Eren to the boys' side, and Aila and Mikasa to the girls' side. "Hey.. Aila?", Mikasa asked shyly, "Yeah what's up Mika?" "I have something to tell you..", Mikasa said while hiding her face in her scarf, looking down at ground, blushing. Aila was shocked, she'd never seen Mikasa blush before. "Ok, shoot" "Back when we were kids, I um.. I used to have a crush on you", Aila grew wide eyed, she could hardly believe the words she had just heard. "Really? I-I never knew! Why didn't you tell me?" "Because I thought that if you knew how I felt, you wouldn't wanna be friends anymore..", Aila now clearly blushing scratched the back of her neck. "W-Well, you should've because.. I liked you too Mika...", Mikasa emerged from her scarf, slightly gasping at Aila's statement. "Well it's- it's in the past now so we don't need to worry about it haha.." "O-Oh... yeah.. heh", Aila looked down at the ground, she felt a slight tug in her chest. She thought to herself, "It's not like I still like her... right..?".

Aila and Mikasa had made it back to their room in the dorms, Annie was laying on her bed, reading a book of some sort. She waved at the two when they entered the room, acknowledging them. Aila got some clothes to change into, heading towards the girls bathroom where the recreational showers were. Mikasa and Annie soon followed. Once they had arrived, most of the showers with curtains were already taken. They were the last ones to get there anyways, Annie headed into one of the shower stalls. Mikasa did too, Aila decided to go into the one in the middle of the two. When she set her things down, she couldn't help but glance over at Mikasa. She was naked, her muscles toned, her skin a glistening creamy white. Aila realized she was staring and turned the other way, only to see a naked Annie. Annie's hair was let down from her bun, although small, her figure was toned, she clearly was active. Annie noticed, she turned to look at Aila and intended to give her a icy glare, but was shocked when seeing her figure. Aila was a tall girl, as tall as their fellow cadet Reiner Braun. Her Hair glistened from the water, giving it an golden glow. Her eyes a piercing yellow, her lips a soft pink, her skin a whitish tan, and her muscles, toned with a six pack. Annie quickly realized she was staring when she looked Aila in the eyes. She blushed and quickly turned away. Ignoring the fact that she was just checked out by the ice queen herself, Aila continued to shower, not realizing she had another admirer on her other side.

At around nine o'clock, everyone had finished showering and went back to their dorm rooms. All but one cadet. Aila, laying down on the bottom bunk under Mikasa, noticed that Annie's top bunk mate was missing all day. "Hey has anyone seen Sasha?", Mikasa looked down and then over to the empty bunk, "Huh, you're right, I haven't seen her all day since the commandant made her run til sundown, did she collapse out there?" "That can't be good, I'll go get her", Aila said, getting up from her bed, putting on her shoes. "You sure you'll be able to carry her?", Annie asked, Aila smirked and looked at her. "Yeah I'm sure haha, I did plow the fields for the past three years", she walked towards the door, but when she got to the door, someone knocked. "Who could that be? Sasha maybe?", Aila opened the door to see the cadet she stood by in formation earlier, Ymir, along with a girl shorter than Annie, Christa Lenz. Aila looked to see Ymir carrying an unconscious Sasha over her shoulders, "Sasha! Is she alright?", Aila asked grabbing hold of Sasha off Ymir's back. "Yeah, she should be fine, she's just tired from the lack of food and endurance training the commandant put her through, she's got guts for eating like that in formation, that or she's just stupid", Ymir was elbowed in the side by Christa, "Ymir stop! She's already unconscious, just let her rest", Aila looked up at the two. "Thank you, I was going to go out there to get her myself but you saved me the trouble", Ymir turned to leave, waving her hand up, "Yeah whatever, wouldn't have been good if she died out there", Christa shot her another icy glare. "Well, we'll be off, take care of her please" "Of course, leave her to us", the two left.
