It was an overcast Tuesday afternoon. The year 8 boys were first to let go. I started from one of the people at the back (like I do most times). The whistle blew we were off. The people that thnk they're fast run as fast as they can at the beginning. By the first corner there in last. By the first corner I was in 3rd, still trying to catch up to the people in 2nd and 1st. I'm right behind them, they can hear me puffing. I overtake both of them leading with still ages to go. Now we cross over the road. Look both ways, well no really.

I'm coming up to the hardest part of the run. I hear a voice saying ¨run run run¨ I run as fast as I could, then I notice there is a couple of dogs chasing me, while I'm running up the biggest hill in Papakura. By the time I'm up the hill there was a teacher, I yelled at the teacher ¨theres a couple dogs down there!¨ I'm still first coming to the end of the race. Last 100m I'm running as fast as I could. I also tell the teacher at the finsh there were some dogs. So she just send them around the block without crossing the road.
