So here's chapter 15!!!

It's another good one, in my opinion.  Haven't written in Braxton's POV for awhile.  It was nice getting in touch with his character again.

I hope you enjoy it!!

And don't forget to vote and comment!

I came across this picture of Christian Bale and for some reason I just love it!

Braxton’s POV

I stare blankly at her father.  He looks furious.

If only he knew.

“What the hell is going on, Braxton?” Jack intensely asks.

I continue staring at him.  I can’t seem to form any words.

My mind wanders back to the brilliant idea of booking this trip to visit Kansas in the first place.  What a mistake that was.  If I never would have come, then I wouldn’t have found out about her little fling with whatever his name was.  She says she didn’t sleep with him, but how can I trust her.  She’s supposed to be down here visiting her parents, not gallivanting off into the night with another man.

Sarah had given me some attitude when I asked her to book my flight.  It seems lately anything that involves Kansas she strikes up some defiance.

I pushed the intercom button to call Sarah.

“Yes, Mr. Cooper.”

“I need you to come into my office for a minute.”

“Right away, Mr. Cooper.”

She came in, wearing yet another one of her outfits.  It was an all-black pencil skirt suit with a ruby red top underneath and lips to match.  Her top gave me a nice glimpse at her cleavage.  She had on some nude heels, just like the ones Kansas has.

“What do you need, sir?”

“The judge called a two day recess for the Roberts’ trial.  I was thinking of surprising Kansas down in Florida.”

Sarah’s expression changed to a sullen look.  “Are you sure she even wants you there?”

I felt my anger rise just a little bit.  “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Well, isn’t she visiting her parents?  Maybe she wants to spend time with them…alone.”

“Don’t try and tell me what my wife wants!  I am asking you…no wait, I am telling you to book me a flight for tomorrow morning to Cape Coral, Florida.”

She was taken aback by my sudden outburst.  “I’m sorry, Mr. Cooper.  I will get that booked for you right away.”

“Thank you, Sarah.  You may go now.”

She turned around and walked out of my office rather quickly.

About an hour had gone by when there was a knock on my door.

“Come in.”

When she came back to tell me that the flight was booked, her mood had changed dramatically.  I don’t know why she gave me such a hard time about doing such a simple task.

Sarah came walking in over to my side of the desk.  She placed the confirmation paper down in front of me, dragging her hand gently across my forearm.  I looked up at her, wondering where that was coming from.
