We tip toe in. I point to the stairs. "I think the back door is somewhere on the other side of the stairs," I observe. Saki and Katashi agree, and we all begin climbing the stairs. Saki is going super fast and is ahead of all of us. When she gets to the step right before the 2nd floor, a weird creaking sound is heard. "Wha-What was that?" Katashi asks. Before any of us can answer, the stairs begin slanting. "Ahhhhh!" I scream. We all collapse back on the ground. The stairs look like a slide now.

I rub my forehead. "That hurt," Saki mumbled. Me and Katashi agree. Katashi looks a little panicked. "What if this place is actually haunted?" He asks. His words send shivers down my spine. "Gh-ghosts don't exist," I said, a little forcefully. I just wish I believed my own words.

I see Saki eyeing what once was the stairs. "How are we supposed to get up now?" She asks. I think for a moment. I inspected the area. "If we could jump up to the railing beside the stairs and then jump up..." I speculated. Katashi raised an eyebrow at me. "How on earth are we going to do that?" He asked. I smirked. "You forgot that I'm good at gymnastics."

I run as quickly as possible, and when I get half a metre away from the railing, I jump. I grab onto the railing and pull myself up. I'll admit, it's a lot harder than I thought. Though, I still made it!

I turn around and look at them. "See, easy!" I exclaim. Saki raised an eyebrow. "You forgot, not all of us are super good gymnasts," She deadpanned. "I got that covered," I stated. I leaned down on the ground and stuck my hand through a hole in the railing. "Do the same thing I did, but you only have to catch my hand," I instructed. "Who wants to go first?" I asked. Katashi volunteered. He had a pretty good running start and was able to grab my hand. He was a tiny bit heavy, but I was able to pull him up.

"Your turn!" I told Saki. I saw her gulp. She ran and jumped a little too early but she managed. I just had to lean forward a bit to catch her. I pulled her up.

Saki sighed. "I was so worried you wouldn't catch me!" She exclaimed. "What can I say. I'm the best," I fake flipped my hair. We all got a good laugh. Then, we all got up and walked over to the hallway. There was a sign beside the entrance to it.

"What does that say?" Katashi asked. I took a closer look. "I dunno," I stated. "It's Chinese," Saki mumbled. "How'd you know?" I asked. "My dad made me learn Chinese," She explained. "Wéixiǎn! Jin Lái de bìng bù zǒng shì chūlái de," She read. "What does that mean?" Katashi asked. "Danger! What comes in, doesn't always come out," She translated.
