From celebrating the end of a war to remembering soldiers fallen on the battlefield, November 11th is wildly celebrated in many countries around the globe.

The poppy used as the icon of the day comes from McCray's poem written in May 1915 after presiding over the funeral of friend fallen on the Second Battle of Ypres.

For the occasion, we challenge you to a bout of poetry. This is simple, yet not, at the same time!

Poem has to be inspired by a battle, historical or imaginary to celebrate the fallen comrades and let us remember their sacrifices.

Once you have written, please post your poem in the comment section below. You may also want to post it on your profile.

We then will add the winning entries received to our Anthology book.

Let the Poppy inspire you!
