It's November, when the air gets a bit chiller and smell of pumpkin pies waft through the houses with the preparation for thanksgiving being in full swing. In this moments of fun, let's not forget about our soldiers at the borders, whether in the sky, water or land.
PROMPTS
Prompt 1
Your family is preparing for thanksgiving while your sibling/spouse is deployed away.
Prompt 2
While the masses are thankful their roofs over the head and food on the table, the soldiers that are fighting a war, are all but grateful for their next breath of air.
RULES
The entries must be in English, qualify as Military fiction (fantasy/modern/sci-fi/ancient) and fit the prompt. It can be PROSE or POETRY.
The entry must have a minimum word count of 500 words and must not exceed 2500 words.
The story must be a new one and written specifically for the contest using the given prompt.
Each user can submit more than 1 entry but each one should adhere to the word limit.
