Chapter Three

It's the last period of the day, just five more minutes for school to be over.

I'm in my science class right now were doing some questions in the book.

I'm on my last answer.

Ring ring

Everyone gets up from their seats and runs out.

I stay behind putting stuff back into my bag and turning in my answers.

" Wait Riley." Ms. Rain says

" Yeah?" I question

" Since your new would you like some help to catch up?" She ask

" Actually this is pretty easy for me, not to sound rude or anything but when I was home-schooled I had a lot of time to study so I already know this stuff."

" Really?" She ask her eyebrows raised as she looks over my work.

" You got all of it right." She looks surprised, shocked and confused.

"Why are you so surprised?"

"Its just with your past and everyt-" I interrupt her

" My Past! What exactly did you hear about me? " I say angrily

"Nothing, all they told me is that you might be a little behind because you've been through stuff. They dont know exactly what, but your guardian said that it might be a little tough for you to be in a new school."

Monica?

" Im sorry for kinda shouting at you but i gotta go." I say walking out

When I leave I go to where my car is parked and get in.

I get home and grab an apple while going upstairs to my room. Opening my laptop, and getting in my bed.

Two hours later

" Hello? Riley you home?" I here Monica call from downstairs.

" Yeah." I say walking downstairs seeing her there with grocery.

" I was wondering what took you so long." I say eyeing the groceries.

" Yeah sorry, did you want anything?"

" Nope, but I was also wondering if Alex and Jessica can come over here and sleepover?" I ask

Ill ask her about the school thing later.

" It's a school night."

"Yeah but its a tradition! Do you really want to be the one to break tradition?" I say with puppy dog eyes.

" Fine but you guys better not sleep late."

" Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I say giving her a giant hug almost squishing the life out of her.

Running upstairs I grab my phone and text them both to come over.

Jessica: Ill be there in ten

I go back to the kitchen and grab popcorn.I put popcorn in the microwave, and pick out some movies they might like. Well vote on them, and hopefully we can talk, like old time where all we did was talk. We talked about the cute boy in my 5th grade class, about famous people we would marry one day. I miss that its been a long time.

Its been over a year, because over a year ago I broke again. I shut them out, but we still hanged out.

Alex: Ill be there in about one second.

The doorbell rings right when I got that text. I walk over to the door and open it with a smile.

" Hey." I say

"Hey, let's get this party started!" Alex yells while walking in while I laugh.

" Wait wheres the food? "she says frowning while looking around.

" Theres popcorn cooking or should I say popping and we can order some pizza" I say

Ding dong ding dongy

I walk over to the door and open it to see Jessica standing there with chips, ice cream, and a giant smile.

" I came prepared!" She yells while walking into my house and going to the kitchen, putting the ice cream in the freezer and opening the bag of chips.

" Well hello to you to." I say sarcastically walking up to her and taking a couple chips.

" What should we watch?"

They both yelled their answers at the same time.

"Home alone!"
"Mean girls"

Alex looks at Jessica, taking steps forward till they're face to face.

"I said Mean Girls." she says, while Jessica takes another step forward till their noses are touching.

" Well I said home alone." Jessica says.

They both turn to me with looks that could scare anyone off.

"Choose!" Alex yells as I run off

" We will find you!" Jessica yells

"And you will choose." Alex yells right after

I run upstairs locking my bedroom door behind me. They bang on the wall, as I try to hold my laughter back.

" Open this door or die!" Alex yells, damn that's not creepy at all.

" But if I open it I will die because of you guys." I say

" Please pick we will try not to kill you." Jessica says.

" Promise."

"Of course I won't kill you." She say as I open the door and Alex barges in.

" She said she won't kill you not me." Alex say with a smirk as she hold me down.

" Fine, fine, fine get off me." I say pushing her off.

They both give me death glares, warning me with their eyes what will happen if I choose wrong.

So I don't choose either

" I choose Shrek" I say walking out and into my living room.

"But, but that's not a choice." Jessica says

" Let's watch all three" Alex says

" I agree." Jessica says smiling.

"Same." I say

Finally we all agree on something.

" Mean Girls first." Alex says grabbing the DVD and going to the tv till Jessica stands in her way.

" Why?" Jessica says.

" Because it's Mean Girls." Alex whines.

Here we go again, I remember we would all fight over movies, food and other pointless things it was fun but I don't try any more.

"Ima go outside, I'll be back when your finished." I say grabbing the door and closing it.

I walk on the sidewalk in my Pajamas, loving the cold wind hitting my skin as I breathe in the air. Siting on the edge of the street, looking at the stars above me and wishing I could see my mother.

Wishing I could hug her.

Trying not to remember, I see shadows come near me and look up.

I see both of them coming to me.

" We made a choice, It's Shrek" Alex says as she gives me a hand to get up.

We go back inside and watch the movies after Shrek it was Home Alone and so on. We talked for hours and slept a little later than my aunt would like.

But it felt good for once.

Not being completely alone.
