"Hurry up Riley, You're gonna be late for your first day of school!" My aunt yells from the kitchen.

"I'm coming, just give me a second." I yell from upstairs.

I look in the mirror to see the person I always see, myself. Medium length dirty blonde wavy hair, my gray blue eyes which used to be bright and full of life now they just look dull, and my slightly curvy body. I'm wearing a ripped white shirt, jeans and a leather jacket with my converse.

"Don't show them who you are, show them you're not scared and lastly make sure to not let anyone in." I say while looking into my eyes taking a deep breathe.

Don't show them who you are they might use that against you, or maybe just leave you.

I run a hand through my hair as I grab my bag and head downstairs. As I walk downstairs I can my aunt showing a slight frown.

" You don't wanna be late on the first day Riley, let's go." She says while walking to the door.

" You know I have my license right?" I say while following her outside to the car.

"Yes I do, Riles."

" You know what that means?"

"What does it mean?" She says with a small smile because she already knows what I'm going to do.

"I'm driving myself." I say with no room for argument, as I run up to her and get the keys jumping in the car driving away.

As I leave I see her chuckling to herself and smiling. Her eyes filled with emotions a mother would have for their daughter. A smile creeps up on my face, from that thought.

I drive away from my house and I'm going somewhere I've rarely been to, only a couple times when I pick up my friends.

Within a couple of minutes, I'm here.

The place where almost every High-school students calls hell, High school.

I get out of the car and run up the stairs to see I'm five minutes late. I start walking around looking for my first class.

Finally, five minutes later I find it. I put on my usual smirk and walk in and hear everyone who was talking, quiet down as all eyes go on me.

"Who are you?" The old guy with glasses says, who I'm guessing is the teacher.

"Riley, the new student." I say with a sweet tone and trying hard not to roll my eyes.

I have a bad habit of doing that.

"Well, Riley would you like to explain why your late?" He says

"Am I?"

"Yes ten minutes to be exact."

"Well I got lost." I say
Or maybe I just don't give a shit.

" Ok since your new I'll let it go but if your ever late again it's detention, We have rules." He says looking at me questionly.

" Yup"

"Sit wherever you want" he says as I look around for an empty seat. Only to find one seat next to a brown haired boy looking at me with his light blue green eyes, which have no emotions in them.

I start walking to the back of the room where the seat is, feeling almost everyone in the class has their eyes on me.

" Does anyone sit here?" I ask the brown haired boy. He simply just shakes his head no, not looking at me.

Am I that hideous?

Good.

That's when the teacher starts opening his mouth and says the one thing I hate to do

" Well class, as you have notice we have a new student. Please introduce your self." The old teacher says, who I now despise.

" I'm Riley summers." I say barely even a whisper as I look at hands and my heart beats faster from everyone looking at me.

" I couldn't hear her, Mr.Bucker!" A girl whines from the front.

" Riley, please stand up and say it louder, so that others in the room can hear." Old guy says who I now learned is Mr.Bucker.

I stand up counting to ten and imagining being somewhere else so that I'm not so nervous.

" I'm Riley Summers. I'm from well here and I really don't know what else to say. Is there anything else?" I say with an eyebrow raised and a fake smile.

"No, no that's ok just sit down." Mrs.Bucker says while I take a seat. He goes on with his lesson, while I take random notes.

Is it weird I feel someone's eyes one me? I look next to me catching brown haired boy eyes one me. His beautiful eyes staring right into mine, I can't help but feel like he's judging me, but I don't wanna look away. We stay like this for a while until I had enough and look back down at my notes.

I dozed off just scribbling in my notebook for a good half an hour and I didn't even realize what I was writing til I really looked down, my eyes widen as I rip the paper out and crumple it, stuffing it into my bag.

My hands shake from the memory, as my breathing goes uneven, my vision turning black. I try to calm myself but it's not working. So I close my eyes and imagine being far away, happy, in a small town with a family. My vision goes back to normal as my hands stop shaking, and my breathing is better.

I wish that was my future, being happy.

I look back up, seeing brown haired boy giving me a strange look. I look down, to my lap, right as the bell rang. I grab my stuff as fast as I can and run out of there as quickly as I can.

I don't think I can do this.
