When Thomas and I step back inside the house, Kitty came rushing towards us
"Ooh, did you see them? What do you think of the new owners?" Kitty asked looking at us hopefully.
"Owners? I was under the impression no living person lives here". I state, while Thomas and I walk towards the drawing room. Thomas lets go of my arm, walking towards the window. Kitty hops up and down on the spot and drags me over towards the window.
"Arabella, look down there!" Kitty points to where some sort of strange carriage pulls up into the garden. A man and a woman step out and look up at the house. I turn to face Thomas and see him staring intently at the woman. I narrow my eyes at him
"Can they see us?" I say to no one in particular
"No, living people can't usually see us!" Pat says rather enthusiastically
"Oh thank heavens" I say with a hand to my chest, looking down as the woman seems to be looking at me directly. I take Kitty's arm, pulling her to one side.
"Should we go down and have a closer look at this couple? I look at Kitty and stifle a small laugh as she nods frantically.
"I do so hope they have children" Kitty says looking faraway as we walk out of the drawing room and into the hallway.
"I should not think so as I'm sure that any children would have been in the carriage with them. Oh here they come!" I exclaim as the front door opens. Thomas, Robin, Pat, Julian, Lady Button, the Captain and Mary join Kitty and I.
