Cupid's Arrow

Chapter 4

It's already ten o'clock night with the same day. The day have been so busy, doing activities in class and hassle going home.

Rick was on his room and thinking to get a bed space or apartment near to his school because he realised traveling from his home to school is a hassle.

Rick searched for his dad and he found him on living room.

"Dad?" Rick asked on his dad that was sitting on the sofa and watching television. "Can we talk?" He added.

Mr. Clavel looked at him. "Yes, of course. Come here." His dad replied.

Rick walked towards his dad while holding Luca on his chest using his right hand. Luca was his cat and he's already 6 months old.

His dad opened his right arm. Rick sat beside him and his dad put his arm on his shoulder. "What's it my son?"

"Dad, I just thought that my school was too far and transporting is such a hassle. So I'm thinking to move on an apartment near my school." He told.

His dad removed his arm from his shoulder. "Why? Is your school don't have a dorm?" His dad questioned.

"We have. But I don't want to be with someone else. When I use dorm. The school will put me in the  small room with someone else. And if I wanted a dorm, dapat nag avail na ako n'on at the beggining." He explained and shrugged.

"Okay, okay. So what exactly do you want?"

Rick put down Luca on their couch and he opened his posture to explain. "To have an apartment and move there, So I can study peacefully and I can go to school with no any hassle or just only a little hassle."

His dad laughed. "Are you telling me that you can't study here in our house peacefully? So you want to move?" He furrowed his brows.

Rick stood up. "No, dad! It's not like that. The thing is about the hassle of commuting" He objected.

"Okay, easy. Rick." His dad pacified and laughed.

Rick narrowed his eyes and made a mad face. "There's nothing funny, dad! I'm serious." He grumbled.

"I can not give you an apartment." His dad stated in a serious way. 

Rick was almost going to cry. He made a sad face, asking for pity. "Why? Dad?" He said in a lifeless manner.

"Because I'll buy a condo unit for you. Apartment has lack of security unlike condo units. You aren't safe there." His dad told.

Rick went to life and put a big smile on his lips. He ran into his dad and he hugged him. "Really?" He asked. Making sure, if it was real.

"Yes, of course." Mr. Clavel smiled, seeing his son so happy.

Rick released from his dad's hug. "But, dad? Isn't it too much for me? And am I allowed to move there alone? How about the payment?" Rick swallowed constantly.

"You are growing up and someday you will have your own family. It's a step for being a grown up man." He hugged Rick. "And don't worry about the payment. I can handle it and of course you can live there alone."

Rick smiled for his dad's statement. "Thank you, dad. You are the best dad ever!"

Both of them released from the very precious hug. "It's a little thing." His dad laughed. "You are the only one from the most important people, left to me. Your mom was already in heaven together with your grandma and grandpa. Ikaw at ikaw na lang ang mapapasaya ko." They became serious.

A tear rolled on Rick's spotless cheeks. "Dad, it's very heart warming. I'm really thank you and I really love you."

"Don't cry, as what I've told you. It's just a little thing." His dad told.
