I hummed the tune of my favorite song as I examined my fingernail

I hummed the tune of my favorite song as I examined my fingernail. 'Are you, are you, coming to the tree'. Sharp enough. 'They strung up a man, they say who murdered three'. I made sure I was turned away from the camera as I dug my nail into my wrist. It stung and I smiled as I watched the small trickle of blood. 'Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be'. The skin grew back, sealing the small cut without a trace. I rolled my eyes and wiped the blood from my finger off on my blanket. 'If we met at midnight in the hanging tree'. I looked around the room, staring at the white padded walls. 'Are you, are you, coming to the tree'. There was a knock on the door and I turned to face it. 'Where dead man called out, for his love to flee'. The slot moved and I saw the familiar rough eyes of my guard. 'Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be'. The slot closed and there was the mechanical ticking of the locks being undone. 'If we met at midnight, in the hanging tree'. The door creaked open, having not been fully opened in at least a month. 'Are you, are you, coming to the tree'. Two men besides my guard entered. 'Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free'. I swayed with the tune as I took in their appearances. 'Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be'. They both had brown hair and looked formal. 'If we met at midnight, in the hanging tree'. The shorter one had slightly longer wavy hair and a kinder disposition while the taller one's hair was slicked back and he seemed more closed off. 'Are you, are you, coming to the tree'. I turned back around and started examining my nail once again. 'Wear a necklace of hope, side by side with me'.

"You sure you want her?" The guard asked as I continued swaying, criss cross on my bed. 'Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be'.

"Yes, we could very well use her help." What sounded like the short one said. 'If we met at midnight, in the hanging tree'.

"Whatever, it's your funeral." The familiar voice of my guard spoke before the door closed once again. 'Are you, are you, coming to the tree'.

"Maya? Maya, my name is Charles." I simply nodded my head in response, turning it a fraction of an inch to look at them. 'Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free'. "This is my associate Erik." He motioned to the taller man who nodded. 'Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be'. "We're like you, Maya." I stopped swaying and turned to look at them further. 'If we met at midnight, in the hanging tree'.

"We have abilities, like yourself." The one called Erik spoke and I rolled my eyes. 'Are you, are you, coming to the tree'. The only metal substance in the room was the bobby pin I kept under my pillow and the next second it was floating right in front of my face. I stared at the small pin before snatching it in my hand so the camera wouldn't see it. 'Where they strung up a man, they say who murdered three'. I turned towards the men and narrowed my eyes, my tune not wavering in the slightest. 'Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be'. "I can control metal." The next second I heard a voice in my head. 'I'm a Telepath.' It was Charles' voice and I looked at him. 'If we met at midnight, in the hanging tree'.
