Chapter's song: Klingande-Jubel (I love this song!)

Feeling giddy and excited, I walked up the rock path to find Jason leaned on the rail next to my sandals. He had changed clothes like me. He was wearing shorts, a white t-shirt and a blue cap on top of his head. My steps faltered as an embarrassing blush crept upon my cheeks.

Had he been there the whole time? It was hard to picture him as a bodyguard of sorts. I was used to them and we'd always had a respectful and kind relationship. Unlike with Jason...

Shyly, I eyed him. "How long have you-"

His eyes were set on the ocean. "It's my job to look out for you." He glanced briefly at me, "so I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know where you are at all times."

Annoyed at his attitude, I silently shifted the sandals so I could wear them. Meeting his stare, I boldly asked him, "Do you have a problem with me?"

Amusement shone in Jason's eyes but the rest of his face remained expressionless. He crossed his arms and added stiffly, "I don't have a problem with you."

Huffing, I narrowed my eyes at him. "You're such a hypocrite. I get it, ok? You don't want to be here and you hate the fact that you have to baby-sit a spoiled brat like me." I took a step closer to him, "well, let me tell you one thing, Mister. You don't know me. And I'm sorry you were sent here. I'll try to talk to my parents to let you out of this, ok?"

His eyes were boring into mine when I realized that we were pretty close. Warily, I took a step back. Bloody hell. His eyes were really pretty.

Which is completely beside the point.

Clearing my throat, I turned around to walk back to the house when his strong hand gripped my arm. "I'm staying here" he made air-quotes with his other hand, "baby-sitting you. That's my damn job and so far, I haven't failed in any mission I've been." He leaned really close to me. My heart was racing as I swallowed hard, "and just for the record, you don't know me either. Who's being judgmental here?" With his jaw set, he let go of me and walked away as I glared at his back.

Damn. He was right.

I was the one acting like a know-it-all.

Ugh.

Glaring at the ocean once more, I stomped my way back to my room. The sunset was setting already and it was a beautiful sight of orange, blue and purple. I took a deep breath before walking inside the hallway where our rooms were. Jason was leaned against his door checking something on his phone. Uncomfortably, I shifted on my feet. Without really looking at him, I mumbled an apology, "sorry for acting out like such a brat..."

I could feel his burning stare on me as I looked to the other side. Where was Pablo? Wasn't he supposed to be on time? It was seven sharp, already.

"If we want this to work out, we have to act like friends."

My eyes snapped to him. Well, in that case we'd have to actually tolerate each other...

Jason's lips twitched as if he'd read my mind. "We can say that we met at the gym and that we've been friends for the last year."

I tilted my head as a small smile played on my lips, "that sounds kind of lame..."

He raised an eyebrow suppressing a smile, "do you have any other idea, then?"

"How old are you?"

His grey eyes bored into mine for a moment, "26."

Thinking out loud, I cupped my chin, "ok, so you're six years older than me..." I frowned, "how on earth my parents would let me go on a trip to a foreign country with a guy who's six years older than me? And that I met on the gym?"
