Ch 4: Shattered Chains

Getting home I take a shower wanting to wash away his touch. My tears pouring out along with the water falling on me. Getting out the shower I quickly dry off I put on some panties and a bra I grab a pair of jeans and a white blouse. Walking out of my room Sebastian looks at me worriedly "are you feeling better" I smile "a bit" I walk towards the study Sebastian grabs my arm trying to stop me. I look into his eyes and he slowly let's go. I walk through the doors my father looks up from his laptop "what is it?" I slowly walk closer to his desk "I want to break the engagement" annoyance shows on his face "father he tried to rape me!" he laughs at my words "you are his he can do as he pleases with you." Timidness is soon replaced by rage "ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS YOUR ONLY DAUGHTER ALMOST GOT RAPPED AND YOU THINK ITS OK!" he closes the laptop "Scarlet how dare you raise your voice at me "I'M TIRED OF BEING YOUR PERFECT LITTLE PRINCESS, I'M CAUGHT UP IN YOUR EXPECTATIONS!" slamming his fist on the desk he stands up "YOU ARE TO REMAIN ENGAGED TO HIM AND THAT'S FINAL" my body is trembling with anger "I HAVE NEVER ASKED YOU FOR ANYTHING MY WHOLE LIFE AND ALL I WANT IS TO END THIS ENGAGEMENT WITH A GUY WHO TRYED TO HARM ME!" he starts walking towards me lifting his hand he strikes my cheek "ENOUGH! GO TO YOUR ROOM AND CALM DOWN!" I hold my cheek I feel tears threatening to come out I bite my lip trying to hold them back I will not give him the satisfaction of seeing me cry "I'm done with your bullshit, I will no longer listen to you!" walking out I let the door slam behind me

Rushing into my room I start packing my clothes inside two duffle bags. Opening my vanity drawer I find the music box my mother gave me long ago I open it good I still have plenty of cash. I gently tuck it inside my duffle bag I can't stay here anymore if my father won't listen then I'll take back my freedom by force. I wait for everyone to go to bed once the estate goes quite I write a note and leave my engagement ring on top of it grabbing my bags I carefully head downstairs to the garage grabbing the car keys I take the grey Nissan Altima its one of the few cars under my name I won't give my dad a chance to stop me. Opening the trunk I place the suitcase inside closing the trunk I get into the driver seat and leave. There won't be many places open at this time I'll have to stay at a hotel turning the GPS on I get direction to The Emerald suites. I have the bell boy take my bags and give the keys to the vale. "Hi I'll take any room you have available" the young women smiles and starts typing away "and how long will you be staying with us?" giving her my black card "just two nights please" her eyes widen on seeing my card "here you go you'll be in our imperial suite 16th-floor room 112" I take the keycard "thank you I walk to the elevators pressing the 16th floor.

*back at the estate*

*knock knock* "scarlet breakfast is ready" there was no answer Sebastian knocks once more "Scarlet?" Worry showing on his face he opens the door "I'm coming in" he looks around her bed looks untouched. A sparkle on top the dresser catches his eye he grabs the ring and starts reading the note:

I'm sorry Sebastian I can't pretend to be his perfect daughter anymore I'm leaving. I want to start a new life by myself I want to discover the world outside my crystal cage. I am breaking the engagement with Mr.Aldridge I won't come back unless my father starts listening to me. Goodbye Sebastian and thank you for always being there for me.

Scarlet Cross

Sebastian quickly heads to Mr.Cross's study he knocks and opens the door. "Mr.Cross it's Scarlet she left the estate" standing by the fireplace he pours himself a drink "That's fine we'll let her do as she pleases, for now, she has three years to change my mind if she can't live to my expectations by herself within that time frame bring her back we'll have everything ready for her wedding" he takes a sip "Sebastian I want you to go look after her help her get situated other than that she won't be getting a single dime from me" his eyes open in surprise "as you wish sir, I'll be on my way then" Sebastian leaves the study and begins looking for Scarlet.
