"Parker?" my mother walked in my room.

"What?" I don't wipe my tears. My tears are for you and that's nothing to be ashamed of.

"Her step mother dropped this off for you," she hands me a box. "She was in Jane's room when she found it. "

It was labelled "Parker" in black sharpie.

I quickly get up and hurl in my bathroom.

It just really hit me Jane.

It hit me hard.

You're gone, and you're not coming back.

Maybe that's why you told me goodbye, it wasn't a temporary thing. It was permanent.

I guess that's how goodbyes are with you.

To this day, I never say goodbye if it's temporary. I merely say "see you soon" or "later."

Goodbye is to permanent and it makes me sick and sad.
