Finally arriving at North Haven, I immediately got off of the bike and said to Holden, "I'll see you when I see you?"

"Actually, I'll wait for you at the lobby," he said and I looked at him curiously and asked, "Are you sure? I might be gone for hours."

"It's fine, I'm actually curious about how your world works," he said and I rolled my eyes and said, "Fine but I warned you that I'd be gone for hours."

"I'll manage," he said and I took one last glance at him before I retreated into the building heading straight to the locker room.

On my way I bumped into Kaelyn and she said, "Oh thank god you're here.......and in a crop top and denim shorts...."

I opened my mouth to explain but she cut me off saying, "You know what, don't explain, just change into your scrubs, the ER needs doctors there are still waves of ambulances bringing in patients from the metro rail that derailed."

I nodded and ran straight to the locker room only to find Nathaniel quietly getting out of his scrubs.

I really didn't want to talk to him but considering the situation, I asked, "You're going?"

He turned slowly and his eyes widened when he saw me as he said, "Alex......Hi."

"I'm not here to greet you Dr. Cardinal, the Metro Rail just recently derailed," I said as I quickly got out of my clothes to change into my scrubs.

"The hospital's going to need as much surgeons as they can on standby," I continued to say as I finally got into my scrubs.

"Did you say the Metro Rail?," he asked and I rolled my eyes and said, "Did I stutter?"

He stared into nothingness for a little while until I heard him quietly murmur, "Oh god..............Avery."

"I'll leave you to it, I gotta go to the ER," I said and he said, "Wait, I'm coming with you."

"If that's what you want," I coldly said as I ran out of the locker room towards the ER with Nathaniel trailing behind.

I rushed to the ER only to find paramedics rushing in patient after patient and doctors calmly trying to figure out what to do with each.

"Huang get in here!," Dr. Hudson said beckoning me over to assess the new patients coming in.

As I ran to the unattended patient nearest to me, I started to realise who it was.

The familiar sight of fawn blonde hair made me realise that I was looking at none other than Avery Harrington.

Her bangs were red with blood from a nasty cut on her forehead.

At least it's just a cut.

I quickly went closer and she was writhing and groaning in pain.

My eyes first stared at cut on her forehead and thankfully it wasn't that deep but it still needed stitches.
My eyes trailed from her forehead down to check for anything else that was wrong and my eyes widened when I saw a large metal scrap protruding from her abdomen.

I checked the rest of her body and thankfully there was nothing else but still, it was a huge piece of metal that stabbed through her abdomen.

I then leaned closer, seeing that she was still conscious and said, "Avery can you hear me?"

She could hear me but all she could do was groan and writhe in pain. I then called over a nurse and said, "Are there any surgeons available now? She needs to be operated on now!"
