He wanted to know if I was ready to meet his pack? Of course I wasn't ready to meet his pack! "Yeah," my voice cracked. I cleared my throat and gestured for him to throw me to the wolves.

Reagan came over and lad a hand on my shoulder. Leaning down, he wispered, "Don't be nervous."

"I'm not nervous," I snapped. Twisting around, I made sure to put on a ferice face.

"Oh, please. You reek of nervousness."

"Do not," I growled in reply. "Ugh, you're more like your brother than you think!"

He was about to reply when the back door opened, revealing a tall, slender brunette. She stepped inside and he eyes widened as they landed on me. "Is this her?" Her accent was clearly french. "I'm Giselle!" she exclaimed as she stridded up to me, pulling me into a hug.

"You're french." I stated. Quickly I slapped my hand over my mouth. Wow, Holly, rude much?

She laughed and shook her head. "I speak french, yes, but I'm Canadian. I have ancestors from France, though." She smiled, then turned to Reagan. "Everyone is waiting to meet her. Should I just tell them that you want to keep her for yourself?"

Reagan stared at me. "Are you ready?"

"As I'll ever be, I guess."

The backyeard was in chaos. Little kids chased each other around the yard, weaving in and out of the tables. Hollering and screaming as they ran. The older kids had a baseball game going, and the adults talked and laughed louder than I thought possible, even for a pack of wolves. Two toddlers were at a small picnic tables, throwing food at one another and giggling.

"Well, Holly, this is everyone in the pack, said Demarco.

"You shoulde have her meet Angelo, Bianca, and Nikki, first, Reagan," offered Giselle. "Bianca's been really looking forward to meeting her." Giselle drew me to her side. "Don't worry, Bianca is a very sweet woman."

"Right, so let's meet this sweet Bianca woman, Reagan."

Reagan led me away from Giselle and toward a small group of people at a table full of different beverages. He stopped at an older woman with greying hair. "Ms. Bianca'" he said softly. The woman turned around, a smile already on her face. "I'd like you to meet, Holly."

Ms. Bianca's smile spread wider and she drew me into hug. "It's so nice to meet you, dear."

I learned so much about Bianca in the five minutes that I stood talking to her. She joined the pack shortly after her husband died. Reagan found her on a lonely bench in a park cluching a picture of her husband with tears streaming down her cheeks. They both felt they could help each other - he give her a family to take away her pain, and she keep him out of trouble. She's the "pups'" favorite babysitter - though she suspects it's because she lets them get away with pretty much everything, including getting hyped up on sugary snacks.

We were soon interrupted when a tall middle-aged man came up behind Bianca and tapped her on the shoulder, causing her to jump in surprise. He laughed and flung his arm around her shoulder. "Trying to keep her all to yourself?" he asked jokingly.

"And I would of gotten away with it, too," she smiled. "Holly, this is Angelo. Don't be fooled by his charm, he'll talk your ear off if you're not careful. Believe me, my ears are still ringing from when I first met him thirty years ago."

"Her husband was a good friend of mine," explained Angelo. "I had to make a good impression on his wife."

"Well, he's a talker, Holly, so don't be afraid to tell him to shut up." She patted Angelo's shoulder and smiled. "I'm gonna go find Charlotte and see if she found that bracelet of mine she wanted to wear. I'll see you later, Holly," she said as she pulled me into another hug. "I'm so glad you're finally here, so this biy," she looked over to Reagan, "can finally calm down and breathe."
