The next day you wake up to a blue blob towering over you. Wait... a what? You jerk up out of your bag, and the thing hops back. You grin. It’s a little blue bird. It looks like a bird out of this book your friend lent you. It’s called an Indigo Bunting. It’s a small, cute little indigo bird, and it looks down at you curiously with its beady black eyes. It chirps.  (There's a picture of an indigo bunting to the right for all of you who don't know what it looks like!)

“Hungry little guy?” you ask, reaching into your pack. You tear open the musli bar. You’ll be back to the campsite soon anyway right? You bite off a chunk and tear of a piece for the bird. It slowly, as if unsure, wobbles to you. Then, out of nowhere it jumps onto your palm. It’s so small! It pecks the musli bar and gobbles it up. Suddenly, there’s rustling. Near a bush. Next to you. You gasp, and the bird flutters to your shoulder and perches there.
