Mommy

A million minutes ago

was when I last saw you

after kissing you bye-bye.

I was holding your hand

Till the last second I could

Before I had to go stand in lines.

The school was so big,

You taught me how to count

The things grown ups called stories,

one...two...th-ree!

You patted my head,

"Good girl,"

You said, giving me a tight hug.

Mommy, I can't breathe,

You let me go

And million of teardrops fell from your eyes.

Mommy, why were you crying?

You did not say anything,

You just told me to have a good life,

And stay away from them bad people.
