Emily
I shut my screen off my phone, letting it slip out of my hand and on the bench beside me.
Mia: Hey Sarah, this is Mia from orientation :) Have you applied yet to College of Kinesiology? Being in the same major would be dope 🔥
Sarah: Hi! I don't think I will apply there tbh, I don't think my sister would do it and we want to be in the same classes! It was fun meeting you though!
I was the worst sister.
Yeah, kinesiology sounded awful for me. Study of movement and health sounded so boring, I didn't want the rest of my life to be that. But I didn't have a single idea what I wanted the rest of my life to be either.
I was single-handedly ruining Sarah's life with my inability to think. She would follow anything I would do. Fashion wasn't her thing, it was mine. Athleticism was her thing, it wasn't mine. We had to find common ground to work with. I wouldn't abandon her to do some random thing, but my indecision was paralyzing her life.
I didn't even know she'd gone to an orientation.
She didn't tell me about it. That meant she was just thinking about it, but never intended on telling me.
She would let go of her dreams to fit mine.
It broke my heart, how bad of a sister could I be to not let her--
"Hey, what's up?"
I realized she'd stopped kicking the ball around. It was cradled under her arm.
