Waiting

Pain… pain… my God the pain…

It never ends…

She never comes…

I never stop crying...

Moping… moping… I mope…

I’m a maddened chicken…

Griefed in my wait…

To be beheaded by the hand that fed me…

Guilt… Guilt… my lord the guilt…

I’m a man on death row…

Eating his final meal…

While the guard sits there grinning….

Try… Try… oh boy do I try…

I am a car with no breaks…

I never stop going until I hit something…

Or desperately try to turn the other way…

Foolish… Foolish… damn me I’m a fool….

I’m a toddler…

Who wet his pants at a funeral…

Now I have to feel the guilt that comes with that…

Waiting… Waiting… what torture is this waiting?!

I am a blind man in a world with no sun!

Wandering endlessly, waiting to either meet an end…

Or to be blessed with fire from my lord savior...

This poem is dedicated to all the people in my life who tortured me with the silent treatment...
