you look down at the address that was written in a paper and look back up and see a building. the building wasn't big, nor small. it looked lonely, and a bit more old fashioned than the others.
"it must be this place.." you mumble resting your hand back down and you take a glance around, hoping no one would put suspicion on you
you walk closer to the building and look through the window of the building. the place definitely was a bar. there was a stage, and the bar place where they serve drinks and snacks. a couple tables around and stairs that led to another set of tables.
the place was somewhat similar to yumis bar in japan. they're similar and very unalike.
"the place is quite decent, isn't it?"
a unfamiliar voice said from behind you startling you. you quickly turn to face the person only to see a male. he was dressed nicely, which meant he was wealthy. he also appeared to like one of those wealthy guys.
"you scared me.." you mutter scratching the back of your neck feeling a bit awkward. "i did? i apologize, i should probably introduce myself.." the male starts
"I'm lee junghwa, i took care of your sisters bar while she left to japan" junghwa introduced holding his hand out for you
you take his hand and shake it, "you've grown a lot, from what i remember you were about this tall" junghwa says holding his hand right above his waist
you smile slightly, "yumi says you sing very well, and you want to become a singer for joseon?" junghwa asks not sure about his words
you nod "yes, a singer that will help the hearts of joseon" you explain, junghwa nods and smiles "you have quite the looks to become a sweetheart of joseon" junghwa compliments and looks at the building
you felt a bit flustered at his words and only show a small smile.
"..let's take a look at this place" junghwa says taking keys out of his pockets opening the doors of the place
junghwa looks around the bar, he hasn't opened the place in months maybe even years. you walk in and look around the bar and notice the dust and spider webs.
you walk around and touch a table wiping it cleaning off some of the dust. "i haven't opened the bar ever since your sister left, many people offered to buy the bar when your sister left.. but, i declined all of the offers. and kept your sisters promise" junghwa explains to you
"were you the owner of this bar?" you ask feeling slightly confused
"no, your sisters ex-husband was the owner of the bar" junghwa informs you
you furrow your eyebrows in confusion, why were you just receiving these news?
"do you know why my sister closed this bar?" you ask, wanting to know more that your sister hasn't told you about
junghwa looks at you and puts his hands in his pants pockets. "your sister closed the bar because.. it was too much for her to handle during the time. i mean, she became lonely not having another's help to manage the bar with" junghwa explains
you nod in understandment. "so, how are you planning to clean this place?" you ask changing the subject
junghwa chuckles, "we don't have to worry about that, i already hired some cleaners to clean the place. it'll be a big surprise for your sister" junghwa replies smiling as he crossed his arms looking around the place
"thank goodness, i was hoping you had that prepared" you say with a small laugh
—flashback/memory of the bar
yumi lays her head down on the table looking at the window watching the rain pour. a sigh escapes her mouth as she felt lonely. the bar was closed, she was the only one left.
the lights were dim, and made the mood even more upsetting. along with the pouring rain. it all came together making a sad mood. yumi continues to look out the window waiting patiently for her husband to arrive.
he never takes this long
the bell rings meaning someone entered the bar, yumi immediately stands up only to be welcomed by her husband. his clothes were soaked due to the rain. he showed that smile she once feel in love with, the smile she now dislikes.
yumi smiles and quickly runs to her husband wrapping her arms around him making him stumble back slightly. he chuckles, "your still going to hug me even when im soaked?"
the once happy memories that slowly fades away. the happy memories that only became sad ones that are useless and ugly.
