It was another Wednesday morning, and Tonks had to go again at the Ministry. The only problem was that a sleepy Remus didn't want to let her go.

"Well, Remus, I really have to go now..."
"And what if I don't want to let you go?"

Tonks rested her forehead on his covered chest and sighed. She wanted so bad to stay at home with him.

After dealing for years with Cornelius Fudge and his obsession with gaining the ultimate power, the other people working there were as ignorant as Fudge was. Neither of them knew the real danger or the war that was coming. This whole situation was disgusting Tonks.

Eventually, they stood up and went in front of the door.

"See you soon, dear..." Remus whispered, hugging her for one more time.
"I almost forgot," Tonks said before leaving, "I won't come home early today."
"How so?"

Tonks hesitated for a second.
"Did something bad happen?"
"Long story short, I was late at a meeting, and now I have to do extra work. They know I hate to write reports, so they made me stay after hours and work."
"And you're the only one who has to do extra work? You're not the only perso-"
"Remus... it's fine. I don't want to make a big deal out of it. It's not like I care anymore."

Not knowing what else to say, he leaned down and kissed her lips softly.
"Bye, Remus! See you in a couple of hours!"

Remus remained in front of the door. He decided to make her feel better. And right then, he had the perfect plan.

It was around 8 p.m. when Tonks returned home from the Ministry.

"Hello! Is anybody home?" she asked.
No response. She went in the dark until she saw a light in the kitchen. There, a busy Remus was trying to make dinner. His cheeks turned pink as soon as he noticed her standing at the entrance.

"Oh hi, I decided to make a romantic dinner for us to make you feel better, but it seems like I wasn't fast enough, and it's not ready yet."
A big smile spread on Tonks' tired face.

"What smells so good here?" she said, placing a kiss on his cheek.
"I found these mysterious muggle candles that smell amazing." Remus responded, pointing to three candles on the table. "Can you believe muggles had the idea to create candles which have a nice perfume whenever you burn them?"
"How do they make them?"
"I have no clue, but I guess Arthur will love to study them."

After they ate and Tonks praised Remus' talent to cook, he led her to the living room and turned on the lights.

"I have one more surprise for you..." Remus whispered before covering her eyes.

One of their common hobbies was listening to music, even though their music taste was very different.

"You can open your eyes now!"
Remus put on the shelf a pick-up. He started looking for vinyls in his collection.
"My dad left me this a long time ago." he said. "I know it's kinda... "antique," but it still works very well."

When the song started, a wide grin spread on his face, and he grabbed her hands. He sang the first verse, then she continued, and whenever Remus had a voice crack, Tonks was falling for him even more. They were dancing in the room, both of them having their own strange dance moves.

After a while, Remus searched for other songs. He chose a slow one, a personal favourite. He reached out his hand and bowed to her.
"Do you mind if we dance, miss Tonks?"

They started to move slowly. Peering into her pretty eyes, Remus twirled a strand in his finger. He was glad to see that she was feeling better. She wasn't tired anymore.

As they were talking, the lights went off. Tonks whispered, "Accio candle!", and put one of the candles on a table. They continued to slowly dance in the dark, even if the pick-up turned off.

"I want to thank you, my darling, for everything. I love you!" Tonks said, looking down at their entwined fingers.
"And I love you more than you could ever imagine... "
Tonks rested her head on his chest.

The lights immediately went on, and the pick-up started again. They couldn't hear the music. They were afraid to destroy that precious moment.
