Help me up
From the ground.
Hold me tight.
Pick me up
In your arms.
Carry me to my bed tonight.
Lay me down
Slowly
Like a feather from the sky.
Lay me down
And slowly
Lie down by my side.
You see into me
Through my eyes.
You know what it's like inside.
Will you lend me your heart for a while?
I need to encourage this broken one of mine.
And sing to me
the songs you're afraid to sing now.
And don't believe
That the stars too far to reach
Because everyday
There is one next to me somehow.
Loan me a little of your warmth
I need to keep my frozen feet
From getting numb.
Under the blankets
I'll find yours.
And we'd sleep tangled into one
It's amidst our tangled frames
When my world finally gets untangled for me.
And it's all so right.
All I need
Is you
To help me up
From the ground.
And hold me tight.
