“Danny stop playing around and get to work. We’ll need all of those cupcakes tomorrow.”
“Yes, Kaiden.”
“I mean it, Danny.”
“I’ll finish them within the hour.” Danny responds giving him his puppy look.
“Don’t give me that look. I’ll believe it when I see it.”
Caleb chuckles, “yup, me too.”
“I will show you all.” Danny mumbles.
They all keep working and the hour is almost up. Danny is about four cupcakes away from finishing the orders.
“I heard that you were going to complete the orders within the hour, Danny. I see you still have four more.” Scarlett says.
“I will, don’t worry, Scarlett.”
“Tick, tock, tick, tock.” Caleb starts saying.
“Caleb, stop it.”
“Nope. Tick, tock, tick, time’s up!”
“I’m done.”
“Let me check them.” Kaiden says walking in. “They are great. You’ve gotten a lot better too.”
“Thank you.” Danny responds bowing.
Kaiden smiles, “now we just need to pack them.”
“Ugh, I dislike packing.”
“Or you can wash the dishes.”
“No, I’ll start packing them.” Danny responds making them all chuckle.
“Caleb did you finish baking the cookies?” Kaiden asks.
“Yes, they’re cooling now. We have to wait a bit and then we’ll start decorating them.”
“Okay. Scarlett are you going to help with those or the cakes?”
“I’ll start on the cakes.”
“Okay, Danny do you want to help with the cookies afterwards or up front?”
“I’ll help with the cookies.”
“Okay, if I need anyone else up front I’ll let you all know.”
“Okay.” They respond.
Caleb helps Danny with the cupcakes and by the time they’re done the cookies are done cooling off.
“I want to decorate the ghosts!” Danny exclaims.
“How did I know that? And we’re alternating.”
“Okay, but do I get to start with the ghost?”
“Yes, I’ll start with the pumpkins and then we’ll switch.”
“Yay!”
“Danny and Caleb, what plans do you both have for Halloween?” Scarlett asks.
“We are going treat-o-treating!”
“With our friends.” Caleb adds.
“Aren’t you a little too old for it?” Scarlett teases.
“Of course not! No one’s ever too old to dress up and besides I love candy.”
“You sure don’t need the extra sugar though.”
“I’m just a very energetic teenager.”
