If it were possible for Casey to feel sad about anything at that moment, as she was curled up on the couch with Seb asleep on her lap, it could only be about Heikki.

She couldn't help feeling guilty as she read through the messages.

"Case please call me when you can."

"I will never push you away like he did."

She felt a horrible sadness that she was about to disappoint him, again. It felt even worse that she would have to tell him over text message, instead of to his face. But it would be even worse to leave him in limbo until they saw each other at the next Grand Prix. She didn't even know where he was? France?

She began to type.

"I wish we could talk face to face but you deserve more than to be left waiting. I'm sorry for all of this."

She sent the message and prepared to write the next part, though before she could finish it, her phone began to ring. Heikki.

She answered the call and lifted her phone to her ear, still running her free hand through Seb's hair.

"Hey..." she answered softly, diverting her eyes down to Seb's face as he awoke and gazed up at her sleepily before realising she was on the phone.

"Hey, are you okay?" Heikki replied.

"I'm fine, I'm sorry how things left off..."

"It's alright, I was just worried about you." Heikki said.

"I'm okay." she replied, giving Seb a weak smile as he watched her quietly.

"Did you and Seb talk?" Heikki asked hesitantly.

"Yeah, we did..." she sighed.

"What happened...?"

"You know how I feel about Seb..." she said shakily.

"Yes." Heikki agreed bluntly.

Casey watched as Seb reached up and took the hand she was running through his hair before pressing it against his lips. She smiled at him earnestly and stroked her thumb across his cheek.

"Seb still feels the same too." Casey finally replied, squeezing her eyes shut and bracing herself for his reaction.

Heikki sighed at the other end, "You're going around in circles Case."

She opened her eyes and frowned slightly. She observed as a faint smug smile crossed Seb's features.

"Are you with him now?" Heikki continued after a moment.

"Yeah." Casey replied.

"Can he hear you talking?" he pressed.

"Yes."

Heikki was silent for a few moments.

"Then let's leave this for now, I'll talk to you in Singapore." Heikki said quickly.

"I can't Heikki-" Casey said softly.

"Call me when you need me." he snapped, speaking over her.

Casey felt a tear slip down her cheek as the line hung up.

"Don't cry." Seb whispered, reaching up and wiping the rogue tear away.

"I never wanted to hurt anyone." Casey said sadly.

"I take it that didn't go well?" Seb asked.

Casey sighed and shrugged, "Could have been worse."
