Habit

You know when you keep wanting to let go,

but you can't?

When the urge is too immense,

as though your body is held in a puppet show?

Scratching, eating, thinking about thinking,

nail biting, looking at the moon, dreaming,

Our souls are held captive in repetition of our worst-

nightmares, or so to be.

We don't mind it for a while, it becomes our friend,

then it stalks us and won't let go,

keeps poking us whilst sleeping, at school or on a day-out.

It's like a sociopath luring us in- demanding control over our innocent minds.

Then it wins, we can't let it win

It'll make us repeat repeat repeat,

until we think it's normal.

We need stop 'habit' from taking us over, we have to resist the urge, it will stop at our will.
