FIVE MONTHS LATER…
“Genie”
Someone was prodding my shoulder, trying to wake me up again.
“Genie”
“Hmmm” I mumbled sleepily.
“Genie wake up.”
“No. Lemme sleep” I murmured drowsily.
“Genie!” The same annoying voice yelled again. Suddenly someone yanked the covers away from me, exposing me to the cold.
But I continued to sleep like a baby.
“Genie. Honestly we’re not doing this again. Wake up!” Someone was shaking me now… but I could still sleep through this. I rolled over to my other side.
“Genie I didn’t want to do this but you’re forcing me.”
Splash!
Ice cold water splattered across my bed, drenching me to my very bones. Who ever they were should know that I could sleep through this too.
My lip turned to form a faint smug smile as I continued to sleep.
“Genie! Genie! Genie!”
God they were annoying.
“Up Genevieve Maddox! You’re late again!”
So annoying.
“Genie!”
Someone was slapping my face. I swat their hands away but they won’t stop. I push them off the bed.
“OW! Son Of A- My head is swelling! This is going to bruise! GENIE!”
They clasp my face between their hands.
“Genie! You’re late! LATE! LATE! LATE!’’
I open my eyes.
Large sherry brown eyes so like mine meet me. It’s Teddy, my baby brother.
“Genie you’re late again!” Teddy screams frantically.
