In times long ago

There once was a man

The purest of all creatures

Made straight from God's hand

*

After him came a woman

As pure and as fair

With elegance and grace

A companion with which he would share

*

They lived in the garden

A true paradise they called home

With all creatures great and small

They were never alone

*

But one day came a serpent

The true villain in this story

Who tricked the woman to eat the fruit

That would forever leave them sorry

*

They disobeyed their Creator

They went against his rules

And so for Him he saw no other choice

But to throw them out into the world so cruel

*

They struggled to survive

Their privelages now gone

Their sins now affecting

Both their daughters and their sons

*

The tale it continues

The story still the same

How we all fall to temptation

Our sinful nature to blame

*

But there's a twist in this story

The hero, our true King

Who put the villain in his place

Let him feel his own sting

*

Now we celebrate in victory

Lifting our hands to Heaven in praise

Of the victor who won the fight

To Him alone we sing for endless days
