The lonely breeze of the night flies by.
On the rocky shore, with waves crashing with a sigh.
And the rusty leaves of autumn that we both once saw together,
became the white snow covered in this winter.
The villagers home, from the lone road
was immersed in the forest of darkness and wonder.
The lights, that were lit, from every direction which hit
had carried hope and faith
to keep us safe.
The burning wood, with sparks shooting out, had comforted the little ones.
They gathered all of their food in tons into their basket
just like little red riding hood with her casket.
All of the little children had snuggled up in their knitted sweaters,
and huddled up like a pack of puppies.
They had rested their heads onto their mother's wings, and had closed their eyes to dream.
The sun with it's magnificent beams,
had made everyone's eyes gleam.
And had set sail, while fading.
far away into the horizon of the sky, so high.
It had said goodbye
while the stars under the sky,
had peeked out from it's covers,
shining down upon the people's lovers.
Now the coldness of this Great Winter
had set numbess to my finger, like a thick splinter.
I stood there, beneath the dark veil
as begining of hail comes.
Droplets of snowflakes start fall,
and the coldness of my breath creates a sigh, as I remember your little lie.
And I close my eyes, while times takes me back as it flies.
And I soon begin to remember when we were the little ones, counting the snowflakes one by one.
And how the rusty leaves of autumn that we both once saw together,
became the white snow covered in this Great Winter.
It's really cold from where I live, and winter is coming and I can feel my bones freezing. So I wanted to make a little story of winter combined by a sad little love story of an adult who remembers winter as the guy who left her waiting in the cold, from the last stanza. ;p
