Sherlock frowned. “Us.”
“Us?” John said, his voice rising a pitch.
“Yes.”
John cleared his throat. “Uh, what about…us?”
“You’ve been acting very oddly, John, and I want to get to the bottom of it.”
“You…do.”
“Yes.”
“Uh….okay then.”
Sherlock paused. “Right.”
There was a silence.
“So…” John said finally.
“Yes?” Sherlock asked quickly.
“Um.” John finished.
“Hmm,” Sherlock said. Where to start then… “You’ve been acting strangely.”
“Uh…have I?”
“Yes.”
“How so?”
“You’ve been avoiding me.” And then suddenly, in a torrent of words it came out. “You’ve purposely been arranging to be away from me. Do you not like me anymore, John? Do you wish to find a new roommate?”
John paused, taking in the new information. And then he started laughing.
