In honor of it being the last ten days of Ramadan, I wanted to share with you a beautiful thread that I saw on Tumblr. It really opened my mind a bit, and I hope you guys can benefit from reading it as well—not just during Ramadan but hopefully for the rest of your life.

Simply changing the way we view our everyday actions can count as an act of worship

Simply changing the way we view our everyday actions can count as an act of worship. While God has certainly made sleeping, eating, and spending time with loved ones as pleasurable activities for us, we should not engage in these actions merely for the intention of gaining pleasure, but rather, as an opportunity to please God and earn his reward. This is how we can increase our awareness of Him. And when we are aware of God, we become more grateful, humble, kind, and less likely to sin.

The Prophet Muhammad (S) was reported to have said, "Be conscious of Allah wherever you are, and follow an evil deed with a good one to wipe it out, and treat people with good behavior" (Tirmidhi 1987).
