"You might win some but you just lost one."
~ The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

Ailani

"What's your issue with me? All I've been trying to do was help your ungrateful ass!" Ailani yelled at Jayce.

They'd been dating since her sophomore year of college, and after two and a half years she was finally done with him. "You breathe down my neck all day! All you do is nag about when I'm getting a job, and when I'm going to start helping you out. I'm trying. Nobody wants me." He yelled back. "Jayce honestly I got you a position at my job and you quit. You quit! All because you don't like certain people at the office." She frowned in frustration. "Such a bitch." He mumbled. "Such a what? Say it again!" She stood up on the couch as she looked at him sitting in a single matching chair. He stood up bringing himself equal with her. "I hate you. I don't even know why I thought it was such a good idea to bring my ass up here to try and stay with you. Forget this shit." He spoke staring her in her eyes the whole time. She couldn't help but to slap him. "Fuck you. I hate your stupid ass too!" Ailani yelled as she watched him hold his face. "I never want to see you again. Get your shit and go the fuck home." She said jumping off the couch and walking into her room.

She immediately packed the things he came with in his bags. All the nice things she bought, she was going to sell. She had mentally broken up with Jayce months ago. There was still hope in her heart for it to be fixed but at this point he wanted her to take care of him. She was working this job until she could open something of her own.

"Lani..." Jayce sighed.

He repeated himself.

He repeated himself again.

"Jayce. I'm not trying to hear any of the lies your trying to sell to me now. You can go home." She huffed. I'll let him keep the suits, he can still use those for whatever job he wants to do. She thought. She gave him two of the expensive suits that she paid for and handed him his bag.

"Lani. I am sorry. Baby, I'm sorry." Jayce pleaded. "Jayce.. this bitch that you hate is done. I am done. I'll send you whatever the fuck else you left that I ain't buy. Here's some tickets to go home. I wish you the best in everything. You gotta go." She sighed as she walked him to the door and pushed him out.

After locking the door behind him. Ailani felt much more relieved than before. However, her heart still hurt a little.

Naomi

"Yomi. You got a text from Lani." Her boyfriend Jalen said as he handed her the phone. She moaned as he went back to giving her the back massage he promised a week ago.

Babygirl 👯‍♀️❤️: I just said goodbye to Jayce...

"Oh shit." Naomi sighed as she pressed the button to call her best friend.

"Hello?" Ailani answered disguising her voice to sound like she was doing better than she actually was. "Hey baby, you okay?" Naomi sighed. "It hurts more than I'd like to admit. He literally called me a bitch and told me he hated me. That hurt like hell." She sighed. "But oh well. Time to start moving on anyway. Fuck him and his lazy ass." She added on.

All Naomi could do was laugh. She knew her best friend was hurt, but she wasn't going to let this hinder her.
