I'm wearing your shirt and singing this song,
Coz my time without you is longer than long.
Summer has ended with trees signalling fall,
I sit on the porch and wait for your call.

Years have passed and the house has gone weathered,
Roses we've planted by the door are now withered.
The photo of us together on the stand,
Looking so forlorn like this sad empty land.

I'm walking through town while looking around,
This place where we started the love that we found.
Eating peach ice cream at our fave' ice cream stand,
This tasted way sweeter when you were around.

Dusk has now come, still there is no call,
I am now wondering whether you'll call at all.
The sky is so empty, just ashy dark gray,
I'm missing your voice on this cold autumn day.

This knife cuts the deepest I have ever felt.
It's always been present since the day that you left.
Watching your plane leave, stark white against blue,
I'm pretty sure, a part of me left with you.

Years since I've held you and ruffled your hair,
Yet this place is still rife with your scent in the air.
People are looking, they whisper, they stare,
Cause tears are now falling and I'm unaware.

Sun's setting low, air's heavy with cold,
I toss down the phone cause you never called.
Then I hear your voice and I turn behind,
And there on the porch I surprisingly find..........

Years have passed, and the house has gone weathered,
But the roses we've planted are no longer withered.
The photo of us together on the stand,
Is of me in a white dress while holding your hand.

I'm wearing this dress and singing this song,
Because our days together will never be long.
Spring is now coming, wildflowers at hand,
All beautiful gold like my wedding band.
