The beginning

Ruby POV

Ozpin: I have a mission for your team

We were in Ozpin's office since he called my team and I up to him.

Ruby: what is it?

Ozpin: I'm Vale something appeared from underwater. Not a grimm but some sort of machine. The higher authorities wouldn't go near it since they said they say something in it and there was a body on top. Your going to take me there and investigate

Time skip

Y/n POV

Y/n: come on work!

As I said that I was met with another puff of steam.

Y/n: how you managed to get this to work Sinclair is beyond me

Of course I was talking to myself. Sinclair is...dead. Before I left Rapture I found his body in the Alpha Big Daddy suit once more and carried him to his submarine. I wanted to give him a proper burial. He was my greatest ally other than Eleanor if not my greatest friend. Eleanor left awhile ago saying there was something else for her in life. Now it was just me.

I had deactivated my suit awhile ago trying to use my wrench to fix the engine failing though. Didn't know much about making things like this only hacking them.

Y/n: uhh I give up for today

I put down my wrench and found the sleeping quarters. I laid down on the first bed and fell asleep.

Ruby POV

We were looking at the machine. It was a large circular thing with metal forming a tower like object in the middle of it.

Weiss: what is it?

Ozpin: they said it came from the sea. It's man made, we know that

I saw I ladder and walked up to it and climbed onto the thing. I then saw a body.

Ruby: guys what's this?

They climbed up and saw it also.

(Pretend it's lying down and does not have a little sister)

Ozpin: it's a machine

Yang: guys a door

I looked at her. Then looked where she was pointing. I saw the tower like thing in the middle was made of glass and had a door. I opened it and noticed how thick the glass was. Then I heard snoring.

Ruby: someone's here

They entered also as I followed the snoring. I went down some stairs into the middle and saw a few beds. Then I saw a man lying down on the closest bed asleep.

Blake: what did you find?!

The man started moving in his sleep.

I went up the stairs quickly.

Ruby: a man is asleep down there

Then I heard someone clear their voice. I turned around and saw the man with a wrench in his hands. He was looking at me.

???: do you mind leaving?

Ozpin: your very polite to us as we are breaking an entrance

He sighed.

???: we'll since your here I have a question. Where the nearest graveyard and do you know how to fix an engine?

Ozpin: graveyard?

???: I'm going to assume you saw Sinclair outside. A great ally and a greater friend. He was forced into that suit against his will and I had to kill him. I wanted to give him a proper burial

Ozpin: you can bury him in the emerald forest

???: that'll work

Then he paused.

???: where is that?

Weiss: you don't know where the forest is?

???: if your stuck in an underwater city for 5 years you tend to forget the surface

We where all silent.

Ozpin: what's your name?

???: a have a few names. Subject Delta, Johnny Topside. But my real name is Jack Y/n Wynand. But please call me Y/n

Ozpin: my name is Ozpin. I'll show you where you can bury your friend if you would kindly follow me

He then swung at Ozpin. Ozpin blocked it with his cane then pushed his wrench away. I then pushed him back down the stairs.

When he got up at the bottom he looked at us.

Y/n: sorry for that. I don't like that phrase for very personal reasons.

Ozpin: and why's that?

He looked at the 4 of us.

Y/n: can you 4 go outside real quickly please?

I nodded and we walked outside leaving Ozpin with him.

Y/n POV

After they left I looked at Ozpin.

Y/n: that phrase was programmed into my head years ago as a trigger. I wasn't born. I was created and programmed with that phrase as a trigger to do what every I was told.

Ozpin nodded.

Ozpin: I'm sorry for that. But I can sense more to you. Your semblance is what?

Y/n: don't have one. I have plasmids. In Rapture, the underwater city, you can change your DNA. As soon as you do your semblance will never activate or if you already have yours you can't use it

He looked at me with a serious face.

Ozpin: how about you come to Beacon and join. Your plasmids can be your semblance.

I thought for a moment.

Y/n: it's not like I have anywhere to go

He smiled.

Ozpin: follow me. Also grab your friend, you can bury him when we get there

Y/n: thanks for helping me

Ozpin: your welcome
