Prologue (two years ago)
“Emily, look at that boy over there!” Melissa squealed as I turned my focus to a bunch of boys near the food court. Only one of them took my fancy and that was a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes as I sipped my milkshake till it was gone. I felt Melissa nudge me as that same boy was approaching us and I could feel my heart flutter, unsure of what to do.
“Hey,” he smiled at us as he sat next to me. I could see the bunch of boys cheering him on and I rolled my eyes. He was probably a player and out to get the girls who are quiet and shy. He touched my hand and whispered something in my ear.
“How about a date tomorrow at Selguino’s?” My spine tingled and I nodded as I handed him my phone for him to put his number into my phone. I did the same for him and he walked off, winking at me. I looked at the name he put it under. ‘Adam’. Just under two minutes since he walked off, I received a text message.
Hey gorgeous ;)
I smiled and put the phone near my chest. Why was it so hard to find a guy like him?
