10th May,
Baba refused to leave the village because that's where him and mama lived their whole life
Right now I'm infront of Mama's grave with Kamal by my side
"Assalaamu 'alaykum 'ahlad-diyaari, minal-mu'mineena walmuslimeena, wa 'innaa 'in shaa' Allaahu bikum laahiqoona [wa yarhamullaahul-mustaqdimeena minnaa walmusta'khireena] 'as'alullaaha lanaa wa lakumul- 'aafiyata.
(Peace be upon you, people of this abode, from among the believers and those who are Muslims, and we, by the Will of Allah, shall be joining you. May Allah have mercy on the first of us and the last of us) I ask Allah to grant us and you strength)"Kamal and I greeted in unison
Then we prayed for her
When I looked at Kamal again i got a flashback on the first time we visited his mother and his sister's graves.
"I am finally a nurse Mama,our dream came true"i said with tears trailing down my cheeks before Kamal made me face him
then wiped my tears.
Held my hand in his as we strolled back home
With the goats,hen,cocks,chicks,cows moving around
We greeted some ladies coming back from the river
"Careful!"i warned but I noticed Kamal was staring at me
he didn't know he was about to step on a cow dung
He stopped and we changed the lane
A boy came pushing a girl on a tire in the name of play
"Careful Baffa!"i exclaimed when I recognised it was Auwwal's younger brother
"Okay Malak"he said grinning
She got up and they ran
Then we saw Auwwal and his wife,Anisa sitting under a tree infront of his father's house
He got married last year and even invited us but we couldn't make it.Anisa grew up with Zaina
They are playmates
"As salam alaikum"Kamal said when we approached them
"Wa alaikumus salam"Auwwal said and they shook hands
"Seems like you are not the only ones going back to Abuja"Anisa said smiling
"Really?" Kamal and i asked in unison
"Yes,I got transfered there"Auwwal replied scratching his head nervously
"Masha Allah"i said happily
"Congratulations"Kamal said smiling
Anisa starts complaining of stomach ache so they went inside
"You know village life is not that bad"Kamal said with his arms around my shoulder
I grinned
"Should we move here and open a hospital?"he asked and I raised a brow
"Says the person who doesn't drink well water"i teased moving away because if I stay he is going to tickle me
"Really, you are now making fun of me?"he asked I shook my head moving back
"Come here"he called trying to catch me
But i ran away laughing with him running behind
"Malak!how can you be running at this state ?
Have you gotten you are married with four children?"Inna asked when i almost bumped into her at the entrance
I stopped,gasping for air
Kamal stopped and he stood by my side
"There is something called exercise and it is good for the body,you know.
That's why my wife is still young and eatable"Kamal teased bringing me closer Inna looked at us with a dropped jaw
"Shameless boy!"she exclaimed walking away with her tray
"Daddy I don't like this hair!"Farha cried as soon as we entered the living room
"Yus Yus made it!"she added pulling my hand
A tall,slender Yusra stood eyeing Farha
She is now eleven years old and well she looks like a fifteen years old
"I am learning atleast" she exclaimed walking outside
Zaina walked in with her pregnant stomach
Yeah she got married to Mr Imam,they met last two years in College of education and five months after they got married
"Weldone"she said smiling holding her stomach
"Welcome"Kamal and I said in unison,smiling
Before she walked away
"Mummy!the girls are crying"Aayan called loudly coming out of the room
I rushed to my room to breast feed them
when I left them, they were sleeping and they love sleeping for a long time
"Ah Huda and Zahra are awake"i cooed showering them with kisses and they stopped crying and started giggling,kicking their legs
Farha walked in silently
"I used to be tiny like this?"she asked pointing at them
"More tinier"i teased
And she giggled sitting on the bed with me
After I breast fed them,i put them into their cots while Farha sat with her doll
Suddenly i heard laughter outside,I looked through the window and saw Kamil teaching Yusra how to play a game on his phone
I smiled at their relationship,he is more of a friend than a husband
While Dad and Baba were discussing something here and there
I laid on the bed then exhaled
Kamal walks in,Farha ran out with her doll before he closed the door
He laid on the bed,facing me and i looked up at him
My heart begin to beat frantically as I stared at his handsome face
"Malak,My Angel"he whispered kissing my forehead
I smiled as he pulled me into his arms rubbing my back gently
Kamal and i had fights but it never lasted for a long time,We immediately made up and i want us to continue like that
Our love should always be stronger than our ego.
my story started here and it ends here
I don't know about happily ever after but I am sure
Kamal and i will try and make it till Jannah,in sha Allah
