The White House

4pm

Jack was sitting out in the garden playing with Caroline and John. He was lying in the snow rolling about with John when he heard someone clear their throat. He quickly looked up to find Mrs Lincoln. “Sir?”

“Yes?” Jack asked sitting up. John was still in his knee.

“You have a visitor.”

“Who is it?”

“The attorney general.”

“Send him out here.”

Mrs Lincoln nodded and headed back inside.

Bobby appeared and looked at his brother. “Oh my God Jack! Jackie’s going to kill you; you’re soaked.”

“So?” Jack asked as John started tickling him.

“Jack we need to talk.”

“About?”

“Lyndon.”

Jack nodded. Bobby began to talk but Jack wasn’t really listening. “Hoy! Get back here! You can’t run away from me!” Jack exclaimed as he trapped John in his arms. He was laughing hysterically.

“Jack! Listen to me!” Bobby whined.

“Stop acting like a kid.”

“Jack!”

Jack glared at him. “John’s better behaved than you.”

“Oh stop being ridiculous.” Bobby huffed.

“Really?”

Bobby nodded. Jack couldn’t help but laugh.

“Fine I’m going inside.”

After Bobby had left Jack turned to Caroline and John. “You wonder what I have to deal with.”

Caroline smiled. “Would you rather stay here with us?”

“Absolutely.”

“Daddy?”

“Yes buttons?” Jack replied looking at his daughter.

“Do you think we’ll have another brother or sister?”

“I honestly don’t know buttons.”

Caroline sighed. “Ok.”

After a while they all headed up to the residence. Jackie was waiting in the hall. She hugged Caroline and John before wrapping her arms round Jack. He kissed her cheek quickly. “Those kids have too much energy.”

Jackie laughed. “That’s because they’re yours.”

Jack smiled and guided her to the dining room.
