Sam's POV:

The day had gone by rather uneventfully, next to Rebecca nearly getting us kicked out of German class due to her obsession with German cuss words.  Finally, it was eighth period. And I could spend a whole forty-five minutes taring at Alex's ass without anyone questioning it because hey, no one could deny that he had a great ass. Once I settled in my chair, my phone buzzed. It was Carson. That was odd, he never texted me during class. I slid my phone open and glanced at it while we all waited for Alex to show up. Where was he anyways. What I saw on my phone screen made my stomach drop, and bile rise in my throat. It was a picture snapped from Carson's camera on his phone. It was Alex and...some unknown student in a rather compromising position. They boy/girl was mostly hidden by Alex's body from Carson's angle, so I couldn't tell who it was or what their gender might be. But in either case, I'm pretty sure that they weren't conversing. The other kid had their leg wrapped around Alex's waist, and it was in a hallway that was abandoned due to constructional error that made it unsafe for everyday use. In either case, Alex had...cheated on me. The thought makes my blood run cold, and before I can even think about anything, I shove all my books into my bag and leave the class. I bump into Alex on the way out and before he can even think about starting some bull-shit excuse, I slap him across the face. Hard. Judging by the look of realization on his face, he know's what he's done. He doesn't stop me as I leave the class though, as that would rouse the suspicions of the other classmates. Or, so I tell myself. I haven't even made it half-way out of school when I feel a hand gripping my shoulder. I whirl around, ready to punch who ever it was but I stop short when I see it's just Carson.

"What's wrong, Sam?" He asks carefully, as if he doesn't want to upset me any more. I shake my head, collapsing into his arms and hugging him tightly. He's a bit caught off guard, but he keeps our weight up. "Sammy...?" He presses gently, rubbing my back and starting to lead us somewhere. I hiccup a little and catch my breath before I answer.

"He...I...we..." I hiccup again, feeling the tears well again. He gently sits me down against the massive oak tree we have in front of our school and wipes my tears before resting a hand on my shoulder. He studies me for a moment before his eyes widen just a little bit.

"Were you two..." He trails off, crossing his fingers. I just nod.

"Were..." I whisper a bit hoarsely, putting emphasis on the word. He just frowns, sitting next to me and pulling me close into a tight, comforting hug. With Carson's warm, gentle personality it actually works a bit, and soon enough I'm able to breathe without hiccuping or crying.

"I'm so sorry, Sam. I didn't know..." He murmurs. I just shake my head.

"It doesn't matter. I knew it was to good to be true." My voice is raw, and I feel like shit, but I bury my face in the hollow of Carson's collarbone and just absorb the calm he's radiating. We sit like that for the whole forty-five minutes of class and at some point, I fall asleep like that.

Alex's POV:

I was in major trouble. There was no way for me to explain myself or even begin to start coming up with excuses for what just happened. Somehow, word got to Samuel of what happened in the hallway with that kid. I couldn't remember his name for the life of me, not that it mattered. I still don't even know how it had happened. I had been on my way to my classroom after running to the restroom when I was pulled into the abandoned hallways. Adrenaline and my ever-fluctuating hormones took over my instincts and I made the stupid mistake of letting that bratty punk seduce me. After class was out, I left in a hurry to find Sam before anything bad happened. I found him outside, nestled into the arms of one of his newer friends. Caleb...Cobain...something along those lines. He appeared to be asleep, and I relaxed a bit. Until I walked closer to them and the blonde haired boy holding Sam glared up at me with a fire in his eyes that I had never seen the few weeks that they had been friends.
