After catching up on all the latest gossip in the criminal world, Avery went and visited her brother.
Mycroft reorganised his schedule so they could have lunch.
“So, how are you finding the Hardy Boys?” Mycroft began.
“You’ve never read those books,” she accused.
“And neither have you.”
She smiled. “That’s why I don’t use that analogy.”
Mycroft sighed. “Well? Watson and Sherlock? How are you finding them?”
“Sherlock hasn’t changed much, has he?”
“It’s only been a year.”
“But he has changed a lot, too.” She frowned. “That Watson…”
“Yes, I noticed that.”
“Hmm,” she looked over at her older brother. He had inherited father’s looks – nothing like Sherlock and herself – who had the looks of their mother. Mother…She had to visit her soon. “What do you think about him?”
Mycroft shrugged. “He seems a,” he sighed. “Very resourceful man. Seems rather ordinary, but Sherlock has a fondness for him…”
“Yes. He’s a good man.” She tutted. “Loyal too.” She looked at him. “Is that bad or good?”
“Your guess is as good as mine.”
“Do you have a file?”
“Of course.” He sat back.
“Can I look at it?”
He paused. “Of course.”
