When my body processed what I needed to do, my heart started pounding with fear, I moved to the nearest window and looked out. It was the only way,  I slid the window open with my free hand and glanced out it, very bad idea...

I carefully got onto the window sill, I held Sophia  close, I can't mess this up. I jumped out the window, hitting the ground with a thud, manging to land on my feet, but almost tumbling over in the process. I had to ignore the sharp pain that was now shooting through my ankle.

Despite the pain, I ran fast as I could away from the house, which was luckily pretty fast. But I knew it wasn't fast enough, I can't run as fast as human as I could in my wolf form, but I can't phase and hold onto Sophia and the same time. It's only  a matter of time before they catch up now..

Marissa's POV

I watched as she jupmed out the window, more guilt washed over me, all she was doing was try to protect her child. One according to one of her thoughts before now, a child she almost couldn't have,  I had to do this, I don't care what happens to me.

Tearing myself away from the room, I went back downstairs, only to be slammed into a wall the second I touch the bottom floor. Damien had his hand wrapped around my neck and held me against the wall, his eyes filled with anger.

"We had them! We could've killed her!" Damien shouted, his grip around my neck got tigher, good think we don't have to breathe or anything "Nexion is going to kill you for that when he finds out!" he snarled, no trace of anger left his face.

" He already knows, I told him I wasn't going to do it anymore" I said, not bothering to fight back " And besides, I don't care if I die, I am not letting you guys hurt them. Not anymore, the deal is off. Nexion knows that too." I added.

Damien looked like he was about to kill me, not that I really blame him after what I've been saying "Let go of her, Damien." Evan said in a half bored tone of voice, he has never really been into this kind of stuff, he much rather be doing something else.

It took a minute before Damien actually let go, even whne he did  he didn't look way "They killed them." Damien said bitterly "They killed, they deserve to die." he continued "ONE OF THEM WAS MY SISTER!" he shouted, but didn't move.

That's right... Nexion's soulmate was Damien's sister... I completely forgot about that, that explains why he is a little more angry about it "And? you aren't the only one who will have lost a sister if you do kill them." I said in  a calm voice.

Damien narrowed his eyes at me, Evan stood catisouly behind him,  ready to attack at a moments notice, attack who? I don't really know "What makes you say that?" he hissed through his teeth, something he did a lot as a human, some are surprised I remember that.

"Because I can read minds" I began and rolled my eyes but turned serious again "And I know she has a brother, a twin brother, if you killed her then he would lose her. She has a husband and obivously a daughter, they would lose soo much if she died." I explained.

The look on his face changed when he heard that "Are they close?" he asked in a barely audible voice, I nodded slowly, from what I knew they were very close. Damien's face changed back to his angry one "But she was part of THEIR pack that killed them, revenge is still needed." he said, but this time he sounded a little unsure.

"Damien, have you ever thought that this is going a little to far? You guys killed the wolves responsible for it, she was never apart of this. And you know that, you and Nexion both do." I said, still in a calm voice, its just a trait I guess I carried on from my human life, I'm not one to get angry.

Despite the angry look on his face, you could see the conflict in Damien's eyes, the look in his eyes  brought back very little memories from my human life, as much as one could from their human life " So? She was apart of their pack, she needs to die" he stated.

I frowned at him, Nexion has him so brainwashed "It's going way to far, you would be taking a mother from a daughter." I said, trying to keep my voice calm "Just in case you were wondering, that was the deal breaker, I know how it feels to lose a mother" I whispered.

Damien debated in his mind on what to do, knowing that I knew what he was going to decide on once he did, Evan watched us in silence. He wanted to know what was going to be deciced, if he was going to have to deal with two traitors.

With a shake of the head, Damien turned away from me  only glancing at Evan. I watched as he left the house, judging from pictures, I had practially grown up with him, both me and Evan did. One picture lead me to believe I had a relationship with him at one point.

Those were the vague memories I had of my human life, the cleariest and easiest memory I have is of my newborn vampire life, when the three of us, after being change five months earlier. Met Nexion, who had been a vampire for ten years then helped us through the first couple of years of being a vampire.

Nexion hadn't always been like this, he was a good guy, when he met Damien's sister, Jasmine he was an even more great person. Things seriously changed him when she died, it changed Damien a lot too, they both turned to these dark cold people.

The sudden movement of Evan snapped me back to reality, I stared at him, sometimes knowing what he was thinking was helpful "You are either with me or against me, Evan. which one is it?" I asked in a soft voice, almost dreading the answer.

Evan stared at me for a long moment before speaking "I have to be against you, as much as I don't want to take a child away from their mother, I have to be with Nexion and Damien on this one." he answered at last, making me frown again.

I waved him off to leave, if he was going to be on Nexion's side he can be with him, luckily he got what I was trying to do and went to leave" And, Evan." I began making him stop " When and if you guys kill them, just so you know, you guys may not just die by the teeth of the wolves" I stated.

Evan tensed up for a second before leaving, he knew what I mean,  he knew that the wolves were not the only ones to worry about now. I was going to protect them, I don't care if I have to betray the people who helped me, I was going to keep Audrey and her daughter safe.
