Villanelle: "Fire Sprite"

"Fire Sprite"

Surrounded by the darkness of the night,

Oh, my darling, let's dance and softly sing,

Creating a tune that brings so much light.

Hold my hand, let's ignite a fire so bright,

Dance around it and gracefully swing,

Surrounded by the darkness of the night.

Ferocious breeze blowing, Oh hold me tight,

Let's show this wind that the fire is the king,

Offer this melody to the Fire Sprite.

Dear Fire Imp, please let us borrow some light,

Nowhere to go like a bird with one wing,

Surrounded by the darkness of the night.

Dear Fire Sprite, please let us reach the first light,

Don't let the fire down, don't let it swing,

This melody is for you, Dear Fire Sprite.

Oh, I know someday we can see the light,

But for now let's dance and softly sing,

Surrounded by the darkness of the night,

Tomorrow, maybe it will be all right.
